All I have seen from MAC are the little pots of the eyeshadows and pigments (what's the difference by the way?) Do they have kits with various shades or do you have to buy a shade at a time in those little ';pots';?Does Mac Cosmetics have a eyeshadow kit, or do they all come in little pots?
Most of them come in pots, but with some collections you can get a quad with 4 colors, or a small palette with 6 colors. Right now they just have quads (fafi collection), but with the 2007 christmas collections they had 3 palettes with 6 colors. That's the biggest collection I've seen them have. I don't remmeber the price of the 6 color palettes, but single e/s are $14 and quads are $36.
Their eyeshadows are pressed powder or cream. Pigments are loose powders that are multi-purpose (most people use them as eyeshdow, but some shades can be used as highlighters, and can be mixed with clear lipgloss or nail polish to mkae a color).Does Mac Cosmetics have a eyeshadow kit, or do they all come in little pots?
Pigments are MORE intense colors then eye shadows. You usually mix them together to give a more dramatic look :) Pigments are a little more expensive then eyeshadows.
You can make your own eye shadow cases! :) You can pick any 4 of your favorite eyeshadows and put them together in a MAC case! Its about $40, but you get 4 eye shadows instead of paying $14 for each pot. Go to the nearest MAC studio, but make sure its a MAC studio and not in a department store like dillards, macys, etc. And tell them that you want to pick 4 eye shadows and put them together in a case. Im sure theres a name for it, but i dont know it. But they'll know what you mean. Theres only a case for you to pick eye shadows only, not pigments. Good Luck!
actually i thought they only have the little pots at first
then i asked around and found out that they do have the kit
however it's more expensive
=)
I have some in the pots and some just in the metal tin/magnet on back. That way, you can buy their 4 shadow palettes (or 15 e/s palettes) and make a nice little set. You can get these from a MAC store (sometimes at a counter in dept store), and I have a couple from ebay.
It is fun to put the colors together for yourself or for a gift.
You can get a palette of your choice made by MAC if you are a MAC pro member, or if you have a MAC pro store by you. Other than that, they sometimes sell holiday sets with colors matched to compliment each other.
Loose pigment is just very fine shadow. It is different because you can put it anywhere, and the application can be light or very heavy depending if you use water or not. It also lasts forever in that little container.
PS. Urban Decay shadows are very good (I actually like them better than MAC) and with those, they offer a palette of 16 colors you choose yourself in a cute little box. :)
