Which is the best place to buy cosmetics in USA ?
I want to buy cosmetics, I am confused if I should buy in Walmart or from pharmacy stores ?Which is the best place to buy cosmetics in USA ?
sephora. they have a lot of brands. if not then MACWhich is the best place to buy cosmetics in USA ?
most of the things they have in wal mart they have in the drugstore chains . but the probably most liked make-up would be MAC and you can find that in macys... and they have some stores, but you should google the website and look at the products, before making a final decision.
I would prefer M.A.C. cosmetics
Sephora definitely, if you don't have one in your area then Ulta.

What are some similar brands to MAC cosmetics eyeshadows?
But not as expensive.
I love the colors, and different types of eye shadows and liners they have. But it is pricey for me. Any similar products that I can find? What are some similar brands to MAC cosmetics eyeshadows?
Try Jane, Cover Gir colours. Though MAC does have a large variety of colours, the staying power of their shadows are poor on me and I have to use primer prior to applicationWhat are some similar brands to MAC cosmetics eyeshadows?
Smashbox! They are Peta approved and usually have a counter at Nordstrom's and are a little cheaper than MAC, but I think better quality colors.
My Wife loves Mary Kay,Clinique, and then Covergirl.
although not any brand can beat MAC's eyeshadow line for it is the widest of all brands... i can recomend Makeup Forever's or L'oreal's
Rimmel and Physicians Formula are available in drug stores
How about trying L'oreal's HIP line (HIP stands for High Intensity Pigment). They're quite affordable. Smashbox is another option. If you have stores like Sephora and Ulta near you, you could also try their inhouse cosmetics. Have fun!hair ideas

Are all the Walgreens stores even the busier ones cutting hours in the Cosmetics Department. I work in the ?
Cosmetics Department at a slower store, and the hours are being cut down to 10-8pm instead of having 2 shifts of 8-3:30pm and 3:30-11:00pm. Are all the Walgreens stores even the busier ones cutting hours in the Cosmetics Department. I work in the ?
Yes probably, due to economy every one is cutting back on hours. Are all the Walgreens stores even the busier ones cutting hours in the Cosmetics Department. I work in the ?
Yes. Every store in the entire chain had to cut hours. However, in most stores, where to cut the hours exactly is left to the discretion of the store manager and/or the district manager. Obviously, cosmetics is the easiest place to make the cuts but that doesn't preclude cutting other departments/areas as well.
We were told by corporate to expect AT LEAST another 12-18 months of tough times. I am guessing that this hour reduction is permanent or semi-permanent.
It's a tough economy, I'm grateful that we're not closing stores.
I work in cosmetics at a Walgreens that I find to be rather busy.
I'm guessing these cut backs are a corporate decision - affecting every store, because our shifts have changed as well. We're still keeping two shifts though. They're just five hour shifts, instead of seven or eight hours. %26amp; yes it sucks...
Because not just the shifts at my store have been changed, but our overall store hours have been drastically cut. I'm down to one or two five hour shifts a week - if I'm lucky.
pretty sure they might i know all stores chain wide are cutting hours. In the ';red zone'; most of the business is after 10 so it makes sense to cut hours there. but hey you can always talk to you SM and ask to put you on the floor or checkout for a few hours here and there. If you really need the hours go to store to store in your district see if one needs some one part time and ask if you can work there for a day o so. even though working at two stores might sound stupid an employee gots to do what an employee gots to do in order to get hours.
ummm so what's you question?

What percentage of women who are normally considered attractive are actually so without cosmetics?
Of the women who are generally considered to be ';hot'; or ';attractive'; who have their hair done, acrylic nails, fake tan, all sorts of makeup, maybe even fake breasts, etc.. -- how many of these are actually truly good looking people (outside of all the synthetic enhancements)? What percentage of women who are normally considered attractive are actually so without cosmetics?
Stupid question, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Duh.What percentage of women who are normally considered attractive are actually so without cosmetics?
this is nature.
most times i see colors (makeups) work best on average looking or below average looking people. it makes them look like celebrities.
therefore it is not something wrong to wear makeup, what's wrong is when you wear it too much like drinking water till it spoils your face.
but for good looking ladies, makeups works opposite ways. good looking people has this very unisex look that men can easily look like a woman, while woman can easily look like a man (take the nichole scherzingr).
therefore naturally good looking women always look like a drag when some colors are obvious on their face. it'll only be fine for them to not to wear makeup or stick to natural colors for being on screen's sake etc.
I can't give you a percentage, but I can give you pictures of a bunch of celebrities without make up. It's awful though some of them still look okay.
http://www.topsocialite.com/celebrities-鈥?/a>
angelina jolie usually poses without any airbrushing and makeup done and she is truly a natural beauty. more beautiful without makeup.
My husband told me that ';he fell in love in me, because I have the face that he wants to wake up to every morning for the rest of his life';.
Eat this !!!!!!!!!!
ummmmm, honestly i'd say a very large percentage. most women overdo the whole cosmetics thing. men naturally find women beautiful.
Hard to say, as I usually hang out with jackboot lesbians who look like Mike Tyson after a big fight after a night's hard drinking.
They do turn me on though.
maybe 25%. But it also depends on how you define attractiveness.
My girlfriend doesn't use any.
And I think she is bloody amazing.
All those things aren't really needed to be honest...
All of them when they're young.
None of them when they're my age.
Stupid question. Gee,,let me look up all the studies that have been done to get the exact stats.
(I'm a man) I hate how women feel they always need to wear cosmetics. Makes them look like aliens.

What are some home remedies or inexpensive cosmetics to get rid of scars?
vitamin E oil works pretty well if you look at this site it tells you exactly what to do and it worked really well for this huge scar i had on my neck
Purchased cosmetics from China-Value $100.00. How much is the import tax ? And how do I pay it?
And are there any ways to minimize the tax amount if any. Items will be shipped to USA. ThanksPurchased cosmetics from China-Value $100.00. How much is the import tax ? And how do I pay it?
lol i fell sorry for u because you wasted $100 on cosmetics and im pretty sure that you must have bought some hairbands and saddles from there. dfo you know that in china they make hairbands from recycled condoms and thread also the slippers in china have a chemimcal which can burn your feet when added water. i mate sent me a email about all this.
it might sound false but trust me the email i ot showed me that the hairbands are made from used condoms and thread.Purchased cosmetics from China-Value $100.00. How much is the import tax ? And how do I pay it?
Any duties will depend upon the exact item being imported and its country of origin. ';Cosmetics'; is a very broad term, too broad for Customs. Most delivery companies also act as agents for Customs. They will collect the duties, any taxes, and a brokerage fee before they will deliver the goods.
A couple of notes on Chinese goods. There is a huge counterfeit goods problem in China. If Customs catches counterfeit knock-offs they will confiscate them and destroy them. Your only recourse will be with the seller -- good luck collecting.
The story about the hairbands is actually TRUE. I was working in Shanghai 2 years ago when the story broke in China. At least one manufacturer had sufficient records to prove purchases of bad batches of condoms from a condom manufacturer. Those would have been safe, but the ';ick'; factor is pretty high. Others were made by small ';mom %26amp; pop'; operations where the origins of the condoms used was highly suspect. The reporters had zeroed in on one Shanghai ';hair salon'; that doubled as a bordello once the sun went down.
Your postal service or carrier will charge you the tax before releasing the item. The problem is that they add a service charge to it as well -$10-$20.
It can make your cheap items quite expensive.
The tax depends on the item. there may also be state taxes as well.Rememberr USA has the some of the biggest tarifff barriers to trade in the civilised world.

What is a place that gives free cosmetics and free samples of things online with no strings attached?
10 pts If you put in a ton of web links!:D
Thank you! What is a place that gives free cosmetics and free samples of things online with no strings attached?
if you want free stuff, I really really like http://www.sampleaday.com for it. They sort through and find the legit samples so you don't have to. They are great because they are updated daily and all of their offers are ';catch free';, that means no long surveys, no pay offers. They also have a e-mailing list where they send you the free samples listed on their site. I use that so I get them in my email which comes daily. It isn't required though to get the freebies. Sometimes their descriptions are pretty funny too! If you are looking for a specific type of free sample, there is a categories list and a search bar right above categories so that you can do searches.
Oh yes if you are from Canada you might like:

ah you wish! as if there's such a place!
But there's one website (but there's many but I know this one is quite good) which you have to give you email to subscribe to their newsletter.
then, whenever there's companies that are offering free things, they'll put it in their website (%26amp; in the newsletter, altho' u can visit the site every few days if u prefer) %26amp; you click on the links %26amp; it'll take u to the site offering the free sample etc. I have got loads of stuff from it. Like fabric conditioner from comfort etc..

Sometimes department stores offer sample size product for a fraction of the cost, just a few bucks or even free sometimes. Also if you purchase a package of some sort it usually has a couple sample size things in it. Or check on http://teenfreeway.com/ they seem to update often, but you have to fill out long forms for each product... good luck!
Sorry i dont know how to put in weblinks , but what ill show you is a great sample website called MYSAVINGS.COM. I have tried many other sites but have not been able to find a better sample website.

What do you think of the NYX Cosmetics Line?
Hey Y'all!!!
I have heard that NYX is a great makeup brand and wanted to give it a go. What do you think of the brand? I would love to know your favorite products from the line.
Thanks so much! What do you think of the NYX Cosmetics Line?
I've tried the eyeshadow and the jumbo eye pencils and some of the lip glosses and I love them. The eyeshadows are pigmented and work really well with a base underneath them. I actually like NYX better than some of the MAC shadows I've tried. The lip glosses are good, Juicy Cherry is my favorite. As far as the other products, I haven't tried them, so I can't really give my opinion. What do you think of the NYX Cosmetics Line?
NYX is a good line, especially on a budget. I love the Trio eye shadows, and I heard that the liquid liner works very well.
It's great for those who want to experiment without going broke! They have good concealers and of course a ton of different eyeshadows to play with! Just have fun :)
i love nyx makeup. they have fun colors and their lip glosses are the best.
it suckks
i've tried it and its too cheap %26amp; bad quality.

Friends say i look better without make-up; How can i best apply cosmetics without looking so hideous?
Would you care to share some tips appropriate for my face?Friends say i look better without make-up; How can i best apply cosmetics without looking so hideous?
perhaps you should stick to the golden rule:
less is more!
get a loose transparent powder and some eye shadow that is not soo loud.
and main thing is: choose colours (for powder, liquid foundation) that are as close to your skin tone as possible - anything else makes you look like a clown after applying. Friends say i look better without make-up; How can i best apply cosmetics without looking so hideous?
You could use a tinted moisturizer (like Glowtion, or ELF has a good inexpensive one) or mineral powder foundation - for a less heavy, less caked on look. Neutral eyeliner in gray or brown, used sparingly, mostly on outer edges - probably just on bottom lids at first, below the lashline. Just a touch of mascara on top lashes, in black-brown or brown. A bit of lip gloss with a hint of color. If you dont want too much gloss or shine, try a tinted lip balm like burts bees liptints or sally hansens natural butter lip shimmers. My fave shade in that is called impulse, a matte mauvey color.
As a men I love when some woman looks pretty when natural, and if you have this blessing, the you should not use any make up, but as you are a girl and the girls love to look great and better, well just apply natural make up.
Go to the website below and download a pic of yourself and do virtual makeovers. Then you are able to print off the looks and the tips to get that paricular look.
I think you could do with a softer look. There's something alarming about your avatar picture. It makes you look like an android. I suspect you are better looking in real life than that picture suggests at first glance.
just stick to natural looking make up
theres lots of it around at the moment
try going into one of the department stores and asking for a demonstration theyre free and they can give you some ideas
jsut put on realy small amounts... if your a person with facial fetures that stand out you dont need makeup because thats all its for unst use it to add colour...
just apply natural make up... some concealer and stick with light make up! when i go for the nude look i apply brown! it works!
If that is your real picture you are not single because you are not attractive. Smile.
You don't need any make up - very pretty - be natural -
You look great to me, I think your friends should stop being so rude.
wear concealer and mascara and blusher

Toiletries, Cosmetics, Medications and Vitamins And food. How are these items to be declared to officers?
On certain trips one is not served but snacks that are not of much
nutritional value: Is traveler allowed sandwiches, juices etc after
screening before boarding plane?Toiletries, Cosmetics, Medications and Vitamins And food. How are these items to be declared to officers?
Toiletries: in carry on luggage you are required to have no more than 1litre of liquid toiletries, sealed in a resealable baggy, with no one item in the bag to exceed 4 ounces. This would include shampoo, conditioner, anti-perspirant, anti-bacterial hand wash, hand lotions, toothpaste.
Cosmetics: again, anything liquid has to fit into the above restrictions if in your carry-on.
Meds and vitamins: in carry-on, kept in original containers, particular prescriptions.
Food: food restrictions can vary country to country. Snacks for consumption in-flight are not usually a problem, such as fruit, granola bars, etc. Liquids are a problem. Easiest thing would be to take a travel mug (not a plastic bottle) and ask the flight attendant to fill it with water in-flight, unless you want something else to drink!
You can buy food after you clear security and take it on-board your flight. I'm not sure about juice or water, it's possible but I have never found it to be worth the hassle.

What kinds of animals as far as part do producers use to make cosmetics, like make-up ?How are animals used to make cosmetics?
i think its predominately rabbits, they basically apply the makeup to the animals and see if there are any allergic reactions, that's why you shouldn't by animal tested products!!!!How are animals used to make cosmetics?
Rabbitts' eyelids are injected with the makeup to see how they react to it, for one example. Why do you want to know? ANy time ithings are tested on animals usually they are testing the product before it goes on the market in case it is too dangerous for us humans. SO they are gunee pigs for our beauty and health. Which is horrible.
they don't put animal parts in the makeup. they test the makeup on the animals to look for bad reactions so it doesn't have the same effect when people put it on.
u asked this twice

What kinds of animals as far as part do producers use to make cosmetics, like make-up ?How are animals used to make cosmetics?
I'm not sure of an animal part being used to make cosmetics, but some companies that aren't animal-friendly test their cosmetics on them. For example, the package will say eye irritant. How does such a company know this? They put the makeup in an animal's eye and see what it does. That's just an example. Many cosmetics companies don't test their products on animals however. It will usually say on the product box whether or not this is the case. How are animals used to make cosmetics?
Animals usually do not make the makeup. Usually, the makeup is tested on animals, but usually the makeup is made for humans, so it gives the animals negative side effects.
I used to work at a ';beef processing'; company. Cows in one end of the building, steak out the other.
They sold everything but the ';moo';. There were no garbage trucks that left the building.
After the hide was removed and sold for leather, the muscle was removed and turned into steaks, etc. Everything else went into rendering. Rendering was sold to companies that made cosmetics, geletin (used in jello and ice cream, etc), for making buttons, or soap. There were probably other products, but that is what I recall (it's been 10 years)
Why? Please don't make them. If you knew how ppl in those big industry's kill them. I know you would cry, even if u hate animals. Just imagine you were a little animal there being beat to death for you things to make makeup! That would be mean! http://www.naturewatch.org/shoppingguide鈥?/a>
guanno in bat droppings is in mascara
lipsticks used to be made out of whale blubber, i don't know if they still are, though...
This is how they are used for make up: well lets see. they cut them add make up, and wait to see the results! they spray it in their eyes, and wait to see the results. they make them eat it, and wait to see the results. so on, so on. This is supposedly done to THEM to see what would happen to US!
As a professional Makeup Artist I would have to say that some lipsticks are made from Fish Scales and some from whale. Makeup was tested on Rabbits but the companies have stopped doing that. The company that for sure has stopped the animal testing and usage are the companies from Estee Lauder. Estee Lausder includes brands such as MAC, Lancome, Tommy Hilfigure, Bobbi Borwn, etc. All of those compaines are owned by Estee Lauder.
Animals are not used to make cosmetics. Companies like Mary Kay er anything really fancy will test their cosmetics on animals to make sure that they are safe for people, but if the animals have a skin reaction then the product is thrown away. They mostly test on Chiuahuas and those siamese cats.

Where can I buy the Afterglow cosmetics in Malaysia?
I went to its website and try to do an online shopping but unfortunately they don't offer a shipping service to other countries except Canada. The afterglow cosmetics company is based in US. I already contacted the Live Beauty Advisor and she suggested me to go to another website which can provide the international shipping service. Once again, malaysia is not on the list! The nearest country that is available is Singapore but I don't hv any friends there.
Anyone who knows where can I buy it online, do let me know ya!Where can I buy the Afterglow cosmetics in Malaysia?

What do you think of Neutrogena cosmetics?
i just saw that neutrogena has a line of mineral cosmetcs, is anyone using it? what do you think of it?
is it good for oily skin and warm climates? What do you think of Neutrogena cosmetics?
everything they make is great 2 me!What do you think of Neutrogena cosmetics?
NO! M.A.C is the way to go! It's very popular with famous people and is the lowest priced makeup used on famous people! It's only about $12 for MAC Studio Fix Foundation at any MAC store in the mall!
neutrogena cosmetics suck.. they r a joke.. i tried one of the foundations.. it sucked i only used it once paid about 13 dollars for it. You cant even tell which color is yours due to the color looks darker from inside but its actually lighter, so ur confused and end up buying the wrong one.. they also dont have any nice colors.. all the colors look like dirt colors they r all dull colors.. i suggest clinique for skin makeup and loreal or lips and eyes.. they have very nice warm colors and clinique is the best for oily skin .. i have oily skin and i use their clarifying foundation.. it keeps oil from forming for HOURS!!! u dont even need to reapply or powder your face.. its great.. try it.. ive been using it for years..
i do they work trust me!!! and it doesnt way your face down! you know?

How can I be loyal when cosmetics discontinue so frequently ?
For example, I found a foundation that really works in all the ways I want it to....bought it twice and now it's no longer available.
And same with a hand cream from a respected brand! Bought it twice -- hubby even uses it -- but it is no longer on the shelves :(
I understand more whaen specialty lines are switched out, like bath items...even though I am sad when a favorite is gone forever.
How do you all handle this? How can I be loyal when cosmetics discontinue so frequently ?
As much as it sucks when something you love is discontinued, there's usually a reason. Whether it be low sales or product quality, there's a reason. However, one good thing to remember is that ';when one door closes, another one opens';. New products hit the market all the time, especially as technology advances. So saying by to old products just means you have room for better ones. You may have to hunt to find the newest and best, but when you find that thing you LOVE, its worth it!How can I be loyal when cosmetics discontinue so frequently ?
it happens all the time, all good things must come to an end. But there are more wonderful products to come, that's why i stick with my favorite brands sometimes, just try new products. I am loyal to several.
Yes, I know exactly how you feel. They usually change for the better, replacing it with changed ';new %26amp; better product';. Repackaging it keeping up with the market. Just try to new replacement product, if it is a reputable company they should stand by their word, %26amp; give them a call. they can recomment something for you. Good luck.

This isn't a great idea. If you don't sell it, you will be stuck with it.
hmm you have to get a permit before you can sell anything
Become a moving advertisement. Creative marketing companies might be willing to pay you to get their name out there. Some interesting strategies that people have gotten paid for.

Has anyone ever worked for Channel Cosmetics at a department store counter?
I currently work as a beauty advisor for Clinique but it is very stressfull, especially at pre-sell time before the free gift begins. Does Channel have a bonus time and require preselling, Also, do they get gratus? Any information I can get would be appreciated. I would like to know the differences between a Channel Beauty advisor compared to a Clinique Beauty advisor.Has anyone ever worked for Channel Cosmetics at a department store counter?
i worked for chanel several years ago. chanel does not so specials. you won't see their products on sale. the only discount would be if you bought a fragrance gift set, and then it would only be a matter of a few bucks.i got paid by the dept. store plus i got paid on a commission by chanel. where i live, chanel sent us to nyc for a 2 day seminar1--2 times a year to learn about the products and see how the make-up artists do their thing. basically these cosmetic companies are the same. chanel is a higher end company, but that's because they are also fashion industry giants and loved worldwide.the product sells itself just because it is chanel, and it has weathered the test of time.Has anyone ever worked for Channel Cosmetics at a department store counter?
CHANEL never has GWP but they do require pre-selling at times.
They do get gratus.
As for the difference btw CHANEL beauty advisors and CLINIQUE beauty advisors? Just the products they are selling.other than that, there is no difference.. you both have products that you are responsible for selling. The only difference is the products and the product knowledge. The main objective for cosmetic sales is to sell the cosmetics/skincare.

Are the people who work at cosmetics stores good to get makeup advice from?
I was wondering if I when I am at a store to buy makeup if I should get suggestions from the people working there, are they good or bad at helping? What kinds of things should I tell them and how can I get the best help (stores, books, anything.)Are the people who work at cosmetics stores good to get makeup advice from?
They are very good at helping but if you think what they want you to get isn't the best for you, don't get it! but other than that definetly ask people working there for help.
Tell them you need help finding whatever it is you are looking for and they can ask questions to get the absolute right product.
places to get the best help:
sephora.com (you can email a consultant or look around and find tips.)
covergirl.com (you can chat with a live consultant)
maccosmetics.com (again you can chat with consultants or email one)
allure.com has how to guides and forums that you can post question
Department stores, sephora, or ulta are good places
The following books:
Bobbi Brown (there are many that all work)
Beauty Buyble (this one mostly gives information on the products but helps in application too)
The make-up book (has pictures to help with application
5-minute face (This one has great tips on application and what kind of products to get, but at the end gives you a product shopping guide)
Confessions of a beauty editor (written by the editor of allure it is really helpful)
Also, if you need any more help feel free to email me!Are the people who work at cosmetics stores good to get makeup advice from?
That's like asking if a guy in a lumber yard if he knows anything about a 2X4. The women hired to sell cosmetics had better know something about what they are selling. Do you think they would hire a guy out of plumbing to sell make-up just because he sold the s*** out of plumbing fixtures.
If the store is exclusively a make-up store then the beautician there should be able to help you with what you need, if not then they probably can't help.
If you go into a professional cosmetic store like MAC or Sephora, definitely ask someone. They can make great reccommendations and show you how to properly apply things. Makeup counters at the mall are great too but be very specific about what you want. All of these people work on commission so while they're very helpful they can sometimes be pushy about expensive products. Write down what kinds of products, colors, shades, etc, you're looking for and bring it with you.
sephora...
you can always go to macy's and find one of the makeup counters..they'll be happy to help you..
MAC, clinique...etc.

When you work for MAC Cosmetics do they provide brushes?
I just got hired at MAC and I start this week. Do they provide you with brushes, do you have to buy them, or are there like brushes that are community property that is just kept clean? When you work for MAC Cosmetics do they provide brushes?
Congratulations and welcome to the MAC Family! Or the cult as I call it. You will get brushes, in fact, if you have a good manager, your tool belt should be packed full with every brush available. However, you do not get to take them home and use them for personal projects. You do get the 60% discount to build your own brush collection, which will save you so much money!
At my counter, we color coded all of our brushes or taped them, so they did not get mixed up among the artist, although it happens regularly. We are responsible for washing our own brushes before we leave for the day (please use the MAC brush cleaner and a very gentle baby shampoo, nothing too harsh.) You will learn all this as you go, but again, congratulations! MAC is the best place to learn your skill and open your creative mind! When you work for MAC Cosmetics do they provide brushes?

You may have to buy your own; if so, you will get a huge discount.
they will provide the brushes i should think.
if you work at a call centre, they dont make you buy your own phone...

What is your opinion on cosmetics testing on animals?
Let me know what you think of animal testing. What is your opinion on cosmetics testing on animals?
I don't like it. And now that you brought it up, I feel extra guilty about continuing to use my Maybelline mascara. Seriously.
I believe everything else is from cosmetic brands who are listed in the non-animal testing list.
p.s.
I've posted a question a while back, on what harm has been done from cosmetics, and some folks did answer. But I would like to hear more if people are getting cancer from cosmetics that aren't tested animals. (from reading another answer a few up from me)What is your opinion on cosmetics testing on animals?
NO! It is SO NOT HUMANE! WE DO NOT NEED COSMETICS! I do NOT agree with answer #15! What part of ';we don't need cosmetics'; doesn't he understand!? If people are going to get cancer from non-animal tested products, then just stop making cosmetics!!!!!
Go to www.freetheanimals.synthasite.鈥?PLEASE! Report Abuse
i think it is soo wrong to do that to poor defensless animals...
it is very cruel.there are many other ways to test stuff like that and plus animals don't react the way we do when it comes to makeup and stufffff
VERY WRONG!
very cruel! how would they feel if they were locked up all day to test some chemical that could kill them!
i do NOT agree with it whatsoever. I think it is wrong and shameful and should be stopped immediately. Animals do not have a say in what they can or cannot do and regardless of people's beliefs, I do think animals have feelings and a soul. It is not fair that we are using animals for our purposes when they more than likely do not want all this cosmetic testing done on them. If they really wnat to test it on something, then offer money and see how many humans will volunteer themselves for this purpose, because that is the only rightful way.
animals are our equals!
Its wrong. I buy makeup thats non-animal testes like Mac or Revlon.
i think it's wrong!
there are many other ways to test makeup products
there's no reason you have to use animals
i mean it could harm them
and its not even for them to use
i definitely think alternative forms of makeup testing are best :)
I think it's disgusting and wrong. Turn to inmates or those whom have killed offer them $.02 per test and have at it. Stop animal abuse.
Now I still feel very strongly about it for medical testing as well, but sometimes it's very necessary. I still say use inmates.
Thats terrible if they want to test it try it on someone and pay them, if i wear make up (i ussually do) i make sure its not tested on animals everyone should
everyone on here is saying how wrong it is but i bet most of you use cover girl! Covergirl test products on animals
Ive written 3 articles about this topic which have been posted in my local newspaper. Its cruel, and people, companies who do it should be jailed, and shut down.
Lets try testing stuff on us that makes our eyes bleed, our stomachs rupture, make us go blind and deaf.. and lets see what people REALLY think then. You wouldnt treat a human like that, so dont treat an animal like that.
cruel and horrible if they want 2 know if it works test on yourself
its horrible who would think of doing that!
does it make them pretty?
That's why I use a high end cosmetics brand like Bee-Luscious. They use natural products and things that are known not to harm Humans because of chemical testing NOT animal testing. All of their makeup and skincare are FDA approved ingredients.
animal should not be forced to wear make ups or sth like that. they don't want to, they don't need to, unless they pay some professional artist make ups for hundreds bucks and ask them to put on make ups on their hairy face. eeww. those animals really don't want it. and we have to respect their rights.
Its very gruesome and horrible.
But, the alternative is testing the products on people.
Would you rather have a bad cosmetic that causes cancer tested on people, so people end up getting cancer and dying just to test a new type of eye shadow?
And what about all the lawsuits that would come along from people getting seriously ill from bad cosmetics?
Its real easy to be self righteous and complain because you only see the problem from one perspective.
You might not feel this way if you had to tell a single mother with 3 kids who was dying of cancer from cosmetics testing that it was necessary for her to die and leave her kids behind in order to protect fluffy the rabbit from animal testing.
Instead of just talking a big game and being a self-righteous hypocrite, how about this:

Is it true that the cosmetics industry is not regulated by any organization when it comes to chemicals?
I'm in retail for many cosmetic brands. No one regulates the contents of these products? If not, what should I look out for and what do these chemicals affect? Is it true that the cosmetics industry is not regulated by any organization when it comes to chemicals?
That's a huge question, believe it or not. The ingredients of cosmetics are usually chemical compounds that have already been tested and that there is extensive data about (if it's dangerous, etc.) - but no, every cosmetic product is not checked by the FDA, since it isn't being ingested. That's why animal testing is performed by many cosmetics and personal care product companies, because there's no other way to predict what a product could do to you. The ingredients in current cosmetics usually aren't revolutionary or brand new, so you can feel pretty safe using what's on the market today.
This website is actually a really great resource and may be a jumping point for you to figure out some of the compounds you might want to keep an eye out for: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/index.p鈥?/a>
I stick with Origins because I feel more comfortable with the purity of their products so I don't know firsthand about particular chemicals (though there are hundreds and I don't know that anyone who wasn't in the industry would have a clue), but from personal knowledge, I know that anything with the word phthalate you might want to stay away from; in nailpolish, toluene and formaldehyde are toxic and you should use them with LOTS of ventilation.

What is the significance of cosmetics in Hamlet?
For example, how Hamlet always references Ophelia's beauty and how it is fake and must be credited to make-up, not nature.
Thanks! :)What is the significance of cosmetics in Hamlet?
I think that he means that everything you see is not true, but a deception, in Italian, for example, make up is called with the same name as trick, as in magic tricks, or a swindle. (trucco)
I think it is the same idea that hamlet tries to get across: what you see is NOT what you get.hair ideas

Is it cheaper to buy cosmetics from the airport than the city ?
people tell it dont buy anything from the city when you are travelling. They say the best place is the airport. because it is duty free and it is better quality. What do you think ?Is it cheaper to buy cosmetics from the airport than the city ?
It is definitely more expensive at the airport, and the quality is probably exactly the same as the quality you find at the mall. (After all, they are the same brands and products.).
So why do people buy from airport vendors? The reason is because they are Duty free that way. What that means is that if you are an international traveler, you have restrictions put on you of how much stuff you can take back with you into your home country from an outside country. In some places, depending on the country, this isn't very much. I know for China, if you are not a Chinese citizen, you can't bring more than $500 USD worth of gifts, products, etc into china. So, if you bought it at the airport, it wouldn't count towards this total. That is the only advantage of buying the higher priced items thru duty-free.
So, unless you are an international traveler, I recommend you buy the products you want from the mall instead of the airport. Is it cheaper to buy cosmetics from the airport than the city ?
no way. everything i've looked at in an airport is overpriced.
I don't think the airport is cheaper. It may be duty free, but everything is REALLY expensive. It also depends on which city you are going to, and what cosmetics you're looking for. If you get make up that is found in most drug stores, Wal-Marts, K-Marts, etc, then you can just go to that city's local Wal-Mart and get your make up at a reasonable price. If your make up isn't available at those types of stores, the city stores are probably still cheaper than the airport's prices.
Nothing is cheaper in an airport!!! Items are purposly over priced to take advantage of people who will be stuck in the airport and have no other way of getting what they need! Besides, who wants to deal with traffic for just a few cosmetics!!!??????
No. The airport would be the most expensive place to buy anything!
no. for an example: in egypt, local, chips are 50 piasters (imagine 50 cents). in the airport, chips are 3 whole pounds! (imagine 3 dollars)
The airport is completely overprice. Your best bet would be to buy it online, or in the City.
definitely no its tax free but its either expensive or d same price not at alll!!!!!!!!!!
i used to work in a little store in the airport and i can tell you something. NOOOOO. duty free is tax free but it is ussually the same or more expensive as you can get it in the market.
ex. we used to sell perfumes. and ohhhh boy, i knew the prices they got the inventory. They really ripped off travlers because many people have that same preception.

What is the allowance of cosmetics on airplanes?
I wanted to know like how many ounce bottles you can take on airplanes? If it helps, I'm flying Continental Airlines. I'm taking a lot of stuff with me, so what is the amount of ounces in 1 bottle?
thanks! What is the allowance of cosmetics on airplanes?
look up the 3-1-1 rule for carry ons for liquids
you are allowed liquids of any type in your checked bags
here's what the 3-1-1 rule means:
- NO container above about 3.4oz (100ML) is allowed
- all your llittle bottles have to fit in 1 quart sized bag
- you can only have 1 quart sized bag
liquids you have to watch out for are toothpaste, deoderant, lotion, purell, foundation, etcWhat is the allowance of cosmetics on airplanes?
I went on Delta last year, %26amp; I was allowed to carry 3.0 oz bottles. I'm not sure if anything changed since. I remember having eyeliner, mascara, %26amp; eyeshadow. I had lotion %26amp; stuff too, I was fine.
4 ounces per bottle and i think the bottle has to the clear, im not sure but im sure it is four ounces
Put them in the luggage compartment and apply it when you get there, problem solved.
NO LIQUIDS !

What type of machine am I looking for that seals the top of caps, bottles and jars like cosmetics with plastic?
I want to start my own business selling beauty care products and to protect all of the products I want to seal all of the tops of the bottles and jars with plastic (meaning the only way to open the product is to first tear the plastic protective piece off the cap) that you usually find like on the tops of medicine bottles, or chapstick, lotion bottles, lipstick, etc.
What type of machine am I looking for that does this type of thing. What type of machine am I looking for that seals the top of caps, bottles and jars like cosmetics with plastic?
shrink-wrapper?What type of machine am I looking for that seals the top of caps, bottles and jars like cosmetics with plastic?
You need a hair blow dryer. A commercial heat gun is better.
The plastic seals are generally made as a shrink-wrap, and designed for each bottle type. For maximum security, you want your own custom-printed seals, but even a plain one probably prevents casual tampering or sampling.

What's your favorite cosmetics brand and what's your favorite foundation and/or tinted moisturizer?
I am trying to find some kind of foundation for my skin. I am a teenager, have occasional acne, and normal skin. What's your favorite cosmetics brand and what's your favorite foundation and/or tinted moisturizer?
I love LA Minerals stuff. I wear their foundation, veil, bronzer, and i have lots of their eyeshadows.
I also love Avons waterproof glimmersticks eyeliner.
Loreal's new mascara-the tube one that's got 2 ends.
Skin care, I'm a minimalist. I use Arbonne's face cleaner, witch hazel and an organic moisturizer that I don't have any clue what the name is right now! LOL sorry! What's your favorite cosmetics brand and what's your favorite foundation and/or tinted moisturizer?
Well I'm a teenager..ahaha
Umm I like MAC cosmetics. It hasn't fail me and I've been using it for 2 years now.
Foundation I use MAC studio tech and studio fix fluid.
My fav eyeliner is the fluidline (for the top lid) and I have a mac eye kohl for the bottom lid, because I like to smudge it abit
. Max factor has pretty good mascara, but at the moment I'm using napoleon perdis. Aahha and for skin care, at the moment I'm using clinique liquid facial wash because I got it for free, but I usually use neutragena.
I would say. The single best makeup for pretty much all of your needs is Bee Luscious. It has only been around a few years and is like all the talk of the industry. You might want to check it out. Although as a teenager you may not want to spend the money but it would be money well spent.
i really like clinique foundation. i'm 16, and like you..i have annoying acne occasionally. so clinique is a great option since it's hypoallergenic, meaning it won't clog pores..and also, it offers a variety of shades, formulas, etc. so you can find a shade that matches your skin tone and a well suited formula depending on whether you favor light, medium, or more coverage.
my favorite is the skin clearing makeup. it comes in a green tube. it's pretty good, and never causes breakouts. good luck!

What exactly is the shea butter being used in the cosmetics and lotions?
it use to be coco butter and now it is this shea butter thing. what i would like to know is where does it come from and how is it better than anything else. i find it to be slightly more greasy than other lotions. thanks. What exactly is the shea butter being used in the cosmetics and lotions?
Shea butter is known especially for its cosmetic properties as a moisturizer and emollient. It is also a known anti-inflammatory agent.[2] Shea butter can be effective at treating the following conditions: fading scars, eczema, burns, rashes, severely dry skin, blemishes, dark spots, skin discolorations, chapped lips, stretchmarks, wrinkles and in lessening the irritation of psoriasis[citation needed]. Shea butter provides natural UV sun protection although the level of protection is extremely variable, ranging from none at all to approximately SPF3 so should not be relied on. Shea butter absorbs rapidly into the skin without feeling greasy.
Shea butter is comparably richer than other emollients but scarcity of supply results in an erratic market price[citation needed].
[edit] Uses
Shea butter can be found in many high end moisturizing skin products. It is also used in hair conditioners to add and maintain moisture in dry brittle hair, in addition to revitalizing, repairing and preventing breakage.
Besides its cosmetic uses, shea butter is also used as a cooking oil in West Africa.
Shea butter is also used in some indigenous ceremonies. Followers of the Holy Spirit Movement rebel group of Uganda smeared their bodies with shea butter in the belief that it would stop bullets.
Handcrafted shea butter is also used in Togo, West Africa for ceremonies among the Fulani ethnic group.
Many carvers of djembe shells and other african drum shells will use shea butter to condition the wood. Shea butter is also used to condition the goat or cow skin heads of these drums. What exactly is the shea butter being used in the cosmetics and lotions?
I think its more of a body smoother.. it feels really nice and smells nice too!
for a moisturizer
Shea butter comes from africa. I buy mine from www.spatacularbody.com Great quality and lower prices than a lot of places.
Here is some info from their website, their shea is also fair trade too:
Our shea butter is deodorized and filtered. It is white to off white in color with a softness rating of 7.
Shea Butter is a good emollient for moisturizers and helps to penetrate the skin. Shea Butter has a high amount of Vitamin A and Vitamin E, as well as phytosterols, triterpenes, fatty esters and phenolic acids. Vitamins A and E are important in helping to repair skin damage; phytosterols, and triterpenes aid in skin allergies; phenolic acids are good for cellular protection.
Shea Butter is widely used to protect skin from the sun鈥檚 UV rays, as well as soften and heal cracked and aged skin. Common Uses of Shea Butter
* Hair care products * Hand creams * Sun care formulas * Soaps * Body Lotions * Baby Care Products * Ointment Bases
Benefits of Shea Butter
* Moisturizes and softens skin * Relieves itching * Aids with symptoms of dermatitis and eczema
Shea Butter contains several natural natural anti-inflammatory agents and a minor sunscreen agent. Clinical studies have shown that this product transforms the skin in as little as 4-6 weeks, into a softer, smoother, and better looking skin. Those who routinely use shea butter report a number of other special benefits for skin ailments, including blemishes, itching, sunburns, small skin wounds, eczema, skin allergies, and wrinkles. Because of an abundance of healing ingredients, and its superior moisturizing activity, Shea Butter is in a unique class, as a stand-alone personal care product.
Shea Butter will provide improvement in all the conditions listed below. As you use this multi-purpose cream you are likely to discover additional uses. The amount of time required for optimum results with various conditions may vary with each condition. Wrinkles, for example, require 4 to 6 weeks of daily use. Itching is relieved immediately.

DISCLAIMER: The information provided here or elsewhere on this site is not intended to constitute professional medical advice for treatment. We encourage you to consult your personal physician with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.
Everyone! Every household should have a jar of Shea Butter, either among the beauty supplies for soft smooth better looking skin, or in the medicine cabinet for minor skin injuries around the house.
shea butter and coco butter are both good. shea butter is good for the lips, while coco butter is used better for any other part of the skin. lips are very sensitive and for some the skin is very thin. shea butter is more for the sensitive skin types. it might be a little bit more ';greasy';, but it protects the skin from harmful pollutants and extreme weather conditons. shea butters are often used in moisturizers, too.

How do you find the expiration date on Elizabeth Arden cosmetics?
I bought an item to re-sell on eBay but the box is only stamped with ';6JB-1'; and I can't find any information on the Arden website. How do you find the expiration date on Elizabeth Arden cosmetics?
when the skin starts to peel off!How do you find the expiration date on Elizabeth Arden cosmetics?
Thank you for being such a conscientous ebay seller. I think most don't care and I worry when I purchase.
if its makeup its 6 months after opening
if its most other things its 24 months
if its a cream you dip your fingers in yo get it out, then its 6 months, unless you use a little 'spatula' (plastic stick) then it will also last 24 months.
just a general guide. are you sure thers no sign with an empty pot and nexxt to it '6M' '12M' etc?
I hope it wasn't opened at all. I think you should be fine. However, all cosmetics should be used within 1 year of opening, so I would use that as your expiration date.

Are there any age cosmetics that actually work?
Not for me of course! My mum's always complaining about how she looks like, and I quote, ';a fossil'; or ';a dinosaur'; and I was wondering if there were any age cosmetics which do actually work. Even if it's a cream which manages to get rid of at least a few wrinkles, she might feel younger and therefore happier which in turn makes me more smiley.
Thanks,
Simon. Are there any age cosmetics that actually work?
I am only 17 but it is hard to get rid of wrinkles without cosmetic surgery, a lot of the creams you can get in Boots etc that sell between 拢10-100 are not going to do a lot, it is hard to reverse time and damage to someones skin. I would recommend your mum going to a skin dermatologist, they may have a better idea of the creams that will work for her skin type and can recommend good brands. Also they could help with diet (not saying your mum is unhealthy) but certain foods have a natural goodness which can help your mum's skin. Make sure she drinks lots of water and wears suncream spf 15+ all year round by using a moisturiser with suncream in (can be found in many shops on the high street) and wear suncream, sunglasses and a sun hat in summer.
Good Luck I hope this helps you and your Mum.xxxxx Are there any age cosmetics that actually work?
That's sweet you're trying to help your mum. Try the Boots No.7 Serum. Its famous now because it ACTUALLY works and is not expensive. There was an article in thelondonpaper which had it tested against all other products and proved very effective while other did not. She could also try 'Creme de La Mer' which is the favourite among celebrities but of course very expensive.

What do you think of all of these new man cosmetics?
You know, all of these lotiony shaving creams and manly concealer and stuff. It seems kind of frivolous and superficial to me. Am I just out of touch? What do you think of all of these new man cosmetics?
I agree with you. It's far too metrosexual for me.What do you think of all of these new man cosmetics?
I prefer for a man to be a man!
I also think it's an inventive way for cosmetic companies to double their income!
It is superficial. Just like the makeup that women wear. Makeup is dumb.
its not exactly my thing to use makeup however it may give you solice to know that men were the first ones to wear makeup and carry purses.. so drag on ..lol
i like when man uses cosmetics because it allows him to look perfect and to smell tasty.
Dude that is SO gay!!! WTF kinda real man wears makeup??? You'll go gay if you even just LOOK at the stuff!!!
yeah, I really don't think its a turn on for most women to have their men ';made up.';
I think the worst thing is when men have manicured eyebrows... like perfectly formed like a womans. I understand if ya have a nasty unibrow to pluck the middle but come on!
Well in this world~ manly men are few and far between.
I met a man with a bad permed mullet, yellow teeth, and nail and body hair like the ';missing link';.
Not anymore~ He is yummy hunny bunny!
MY husband has a haircut every 3 weeks and has brows %26amp; hands waxed, mani/pedi'd and has his clothes pressed.
Uses top of the line skincare products and is absolutely Delicious! His confidence is higher than before I met him, and he is so thankful to have products that help him shave with ease, he does it all without me telling him.
So yes- Johnny Depp is over the top, yet the trend is here to stay.
it's great....i like a man who is well groom and takes pride in his appearance.....just as long as he doesnt start fighting me for the mirror or taking longer to get dress;)
I wouldn't want to go out with a guy who wears make-up.

Is there any good research which defines what anti-ageing cosmetics are the best?
Can you really add collagen back to your skin?Is there any good research which defines what anti-ageing cosmetics are the best?
You can't add collagen back to your skin in the form of a cream. The collagen molecule is too big to fit into your epidermis. It's like trying to stuff a yak into your mailbox.
However, there are creams that can stimulate collagen production.
Creams with retinol, or Retin A (which is prescription) CAN.
You can use over the counter, or go your dermatologist for it. Make sure to wear sunscreen with spf 30 or higher during the day, because it's the SUN and pollution which breaks down your collagen, thus leading to aging and sagging skin.
You could try Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, in the little brown bottle. That's really good.
Good sunscreens (which you should wear everyday, year round, to protect your skin from the sun and aging):
Lancome, Aveeno, L'oreal, Ombrelle, ROC, La Roche Posay, Banana Boat, Oil of Olay, Neutrogena, Clinique, Estee Lauder. Is there any good research which defines what anti-ageing cosmetics are the best?
Is there any research that proves that any of those products do anything other than soothe peoples vanity

If I wanted to launch my own line of cosmetics and fragrances, how do I find a manufacturer?
I contacted one of the bigger companies and they said they only cater to celebrities?
Are there any manufacturers that will work with me from the US or are they all in Europe? If I wanted to launch my own line of cosmetics and fragrances, how do I find a manufacturer?
Step One: Become a Celebrity.
Do something so attention-grabbing, that the public will HAVE to see you as a well-known person. Paris is the fashion capital of the world, so flock over there and become chummy with the Big-Company bosses' daughter/son/wife/husband/other friends/ or help them defeat a rival or an enemy.
Learn French
Step Two: Come up with a fragrance/makeup names and secret formulas. Reflecting off of the act you comitted to achieve such fame.
Step Three: Get Loaded.
Step Four: Invest your $$$ in real estate. Send the kids off to an expensive boarding school, putting them in your business will to ensure that your empire will survive, even when you're gone.
Step Five: Become multi-bilionaire
Step Six: Retiire at 40.
Step Seven: Invest your $$$ into 1700 factory and store locations GLOBALLY!!!!If I wanted to launch my own line of cosmetics and fragrances, how do I find a manufacturer?
Don't do it!!!! Those manufacturers are responsible for the pain and suffering of millions of lab animals such as rabbits and monkeys every year. It's a vile business. Stay out! Don't buy make-up.
No, they're all in China, silly. China; big names don't want or need your business. Look for cosmetics on sites like Alibaba and Diytrade. If you have the money to buy a few 20x40' palletes worth, they'll gladly print a custom name on the products, and there's probably a few mid-tier products out there if you look around. Easy to get screwed, because the Chinese are brilliant at playing hardball with pricing, and will think you stupid and not give extra quality if you pay more, but think you're rude and hurt the quality if you try and haggle, but it's probably the way to go if you can find a friend who lived on the mainland or Hong Kong for a while.

What shampoos and cosmetics do you vegans use?
I just started being vegan and need help finding vegan cosmetics I can find in drug store. What shampoos and cosmetics do you vegans use?
I use Vo5 shampoo and conditioner. Sanex body wash. Tesco moisturiser, I know it sounds so cheap, but it works as well as Vaseline moisturiser. I use Boots, Body Shop and some other brand that I can't remember the name of now. What shampoos and cosmetics do you vegans use?
Well, I do most of my shopping online at Vegan Essentials. If you have a Whole Foods store you might be able to find some products there. I know they sell Desert Essence Organics shampoo and conditioner there, which is a good brand.
Other than those options I'd suggest Lush cosmetics, Suncoat, Urban Decay, etc... You can buy the latter at Sephora. Lush has a lot of fresh handmade vegan shampoos and such. Suncoat has the best mascara that I've been able to find. Urban Decay has a lot of cool make up.
i used tresemme, shampoo and conditioner.
for face wash, and lotion i use victoria secret pink body.
for hair mousse and spray i use white rain. im going to be switch in VO5 soon though.
makeup i use the brand aveda.
toothpaste and deoderant i use toms of maine.
i use alba for sunscreen.
another really good brand is kiss my face.
target has a pretty good natural cosmetic section.
just google vegan brands
Kiss My Face or Live Clean shampoo and conditioner (both vegan, and organic)
The Body Shop doesn't test but most of their products are not vegan so you need to read the labels, they're also owned by L'Oreal so some vegans refuse to shop there.
boots isnt vegan + is also animal tested.
try some shampoo from lush.
they have wonderful fruity choices.
barry m, gosh + superdrug have a lot of vegan stuff too.
i think it's the same with revlon too?
I use Giovanni shampoo, Alba conditioner, Beauty Without Cruelty make-up remover, Earth Science facial scrub, Mineral Fusion powder, Zuzu mascara, Gabriel blush, and Zia Lipstick.
All sold at Whole Foods Market.
You can visit http://search.caringconsumer.com/search_鈥?/a> and they list the companies that are vegan. Hope that helps!
I use Nature's Gate body wash. I believe they have shampoos and conditioners as well. Try Aveda. I use Origins for skin care and some make up, and I also really like Urban Decay.
Its not drug store, but Pureology. Its a salon brand, and costs 30$ for 250ml. But you use it less then cheap drug store brands
I like BWC (Beauty without Cruelty) Also Alba. And Yes to Carrots.
they make one from human placental extract that should do it . unless you think thats canabalistichair ideas

mythology eye shadow (its a peachy copper)
sketch (a dark plum color shadow)
steamy (a mermaid green that shimmers blue)
and DEFINITELY!!! get their blending brushes. #224 for that big smokey airbrushed look, and #217 for adding extra color in the crease
Oh and the love nectar lipgloss, its a pretty peachy pink color
Have fun!!! :)
All of the eyeshadows and the gel eyeliner it rocks... Actually as soon as you hit their store or counter your gonna want everything in site. They have wonderfull colors and they eyeshadow color is actually the same when you put it on. Other brands dont do the same or you have to pack it on to match the actual color. Not with Mac...just go and ask the counter proffesional what shadows go best with your skin color and they'll try some on you. Trust me whatever they put on your gonna love:)
M.A.C Paint Pot in Indian wood and Painterly,Face Primer,Eye and Lip Remover,Eye shadows and Lip gloss in C-Thru.
You didn't say what skin color you were, but I would suggest Purples and Gold eye shadows for your eye color.I have brown eyes too.Gorgeous gold and Goldmine are beautiful Gold colors.Check out the purples too,my personal favorite is Parfait Armour.
Their eye shadows are fantastic, they stay on well and have excellent colours. For your colous I would recommend glodmine, honey lust (limited so may not sill be around) wookwinked and soba.
I also love their Viva glam lipsticks- beautiful colours and they are for a good cause as well!
I use almost all of the MAC products to be honest. It's totally worth it all! If you can actually afford at least one product, you'll be guaranteed satisfaction, but that just depends on personal preference.
WOODWINKED EYESHADOW ($17) IS A MUST. It's a VERY nice bronze-gold color, that blends super-well and can be either cute and feminine or super sexy. I adore it.

MAC just recently came out with their new Hello Kitty line %26amp; their products are soo cute. i bought a hello kitty MAC tinted lip conditioner %26amp; got a cute hello kitty tote bag =]

They're Brissy based if you live in the area you could go see the stuff. When I placed my first order they gave me some Sparkle Dust samples by La Femme and I'm hooked and have since stocked up on other stuff by La Femme. I had heard how Napoleon rebranded all their stuff and it is the same as my Napoleon! Wish I had have known sooner!!Where in the world can you buy La Femme Cosmetics?

Do you have a hard time deciding on which cosmetics to use?
Tanners or moisturizers, wrinkle creams or repair creams, sunscreens or eye creams, daytime creams or night creams, foot and hand creams, celluit creams...
Seems like the cosmetic world wants us to spend all our time on creaming ourselves for nothing. Sometimes, I find myself drawn into the cosmetic world by attractive commercials like ';Use this cream for your elbows'; ';Use this one for your eyes'; ';Use this on your celluits'; ';This cream is perfect for aging'; ';This body cream will make your skin super smooth'; But then I realize I can't do that for life! Man, it's a lot of time and money. So, now I only use a moisturizer with spf on my face and tanner on my legs and arms in summers.
I wonder what other women use and how they feel about cosmetics.Do you have a hard time deciding on which cosmetics to use?
I feel the same way you do; I mean if a cream is good for your feet, it should be good for the rest of your skin, right?
I did a bit of research a few years ago, and I ended up buying pure shea butter. I have used it religiously and exclusively (no other creams) for 4 years. My skin looks great. I have no dry patches, my face never breaks out and I can even use it for a hair gel. 1lb. of shea butter gets me through 9 months and it only cost $10 (or about) per pound. That's a big savings when you consider the cost of skin creams and hair gels.
Do a google search on shea butter and see what I am talking about.Do you have a hard time deciding on which cosmetics to use?
Nope! I just wear my ';Usual'; earth colors!! Earthy foundation, earthy colored eyeshadow, and earthy colored lipsticks....... Mascara, and eye-liner...... Only because, I found out many years ago, that guys dont like women with alot of ';Color'; on their face!! My very first boyfriend, who could have had any woman, he was so freakin' fine!! Told me, one time when we were getting ready to go out, why do you wear that blue stuff on your eyes.... And said it so loud my Mom heard him!! I was so imbarrassed, and he then asked me, to wear more earthy colors..... And I have ever since... And I have heard, many men, afterwards make comments about women and how they look like ';Ladies of the night'; with such make-up, on.... Even my boys, are like, really protective of their little sister wearing make-up, at all.... My oldest son, doesn't even like his girlfriend wear make-up!!! I asked him why? And he said, because, ';I dont want her to look like a whore, wearing all that crap!!! We argued about that one!!! Because, I think a certain amount of make-up, makes us women feel pretty, for our man, you know...... As far as creams go..... I just use good old fashioned Jergens!! And Avon's vanilla lotion, for a Perfume smell, before I go to school !!
I don't use cosmetics I don't like the feeling of having creams and make up on. But I am sure it is difficult for women who do.

Can overuse of cosmetics, hairproducts, beauty products, lead to cancer?
Just how safe are all the cosmetics, beauty products, hair products, nail polish, fragrances, selfless tanners, and these things really for us?
I mean aren't we just introducing all these chemicals to our skin which seeps through and then affects our whole body system eventually? Can overuse of cosmetics, hairproducts, beauty products, lead to cancer?
Technically, anything can cause cancer. Eating canned tuna, hair spray, cell phones. Can overuse of cosmetics, hairproducts, beauty products, lead to cancer?
New research has just recently come out about the amounts of lead found in several name brands' lipsticks %26amp; other cosmetics. I think it would depend on the ingredients %26amp; how natural some products are.

As long as we don't keep the same stuff for over 3 months, we should be safe. :)

Has anyone ever tried to make their own cosmetics?
I've been thinking about making some homemade lipgloss or lipsticks. Has anyone ever tried this? Do you need to buy certain products?Has anyone ever tried to make their own cosmetics?
I have tried to make my own cosmetics, but with little success.
You will most likely need to buy certain products, mainly paraffin wax, glycerin, and beeswax. My main problem was finding pigments to color the lipgloss with. Obviously regular food coloring would have left a stain on my lips.
There are many recipes online (just do a google search).Has anyone ever tried to make their own cosmetics?
(Makes about 1 oz/30 gr) -- All ingredients were measured not weighed
Phase I (Base Powders)
3 Tblsps Micronized Titanium Dioxide
1 陆 Tsps Magnesium Stearate
Phase II (Oil %26amp; Scent)
录 Tsp Jojoba Oil
Drops of any essential oil (optional for scent)
Phase III (Color / Tint)
2+ Tsps of the iron oxide pigment color of your choice
(start with small amounts and build to achieve the desired shade)
2 陆 Tsps Sericite Mica (pearl or matt)
Mix ingredients from Phase I in a large bowl or mortar. Slowly add the Phase III
ingredients and mix (homogenize) with the pestle being sure to blend the color into
the white powders. Chose the pearl sericite if you want a shimmer in your
shadow, or the matt sericite if you want low luster. A coffee grinder can also be
used, but please reserve it just for cosmetics.
Add the Phase II ingredients and mix lightly with a spoon taking care not to crush the mica powders. Put into a sifter jar or container and apply with a small brush.
Determining the correct color for you:
Change the tint by adding more of
any of the iron oxides. Add more titanium
dioxide, or sericite mica if you desire a
lighter overall shade. Make note of your
additions/changes so that you can duplicate when
necessary.
Transfer eye shadow into 3 - 10 gr sifter jars for easy application.
We've found the Magic Bullet鈩?to work great and really blend all the colors without leaving any clumps. The Magic Bullet can be purchased at local shops %26amp; Walgreen's Pharmacy

Making your own cosmetics serves many purposes. Your body gets healthier cosmetic products with fresher, natural ingredients and no preservatives. You do not support as much pollution, avoiding packaging, chemicals, even marketing as a form of pollution. It is a very anti-capitalist thing to do, to make your own cosmetics. It is easy, it is fun and it is healthy! Often it is as simple as going outside your door and picking some nettles and throwing them in some hot water to soak, then using that as a hair rinse. Less capitalist gain there than with normal hair rinses! So try to make your own cosmetics, like your granny did. Once you learn how to make your own cosmetics, you will feel foolish buying chemical-laden crap at stores, when you know that soaking some comfrey in olive oil and mixing it with some beeswax would be even better for your skin. Enjoy!
Make Your Own Facials, Bath Salts, Lip Gloss, and Aloe Gel!
You can make your own spa ingredients, using kitchen ingredients. Homemade cosmetics, the old-fashioned kind your granny used to make, are fresher and healthier for your skin, than products with chemicals in them to expand their shelf lives. For instance, you can have a fabulous facial by combining in a bowl: 1 egg yolk * 2 T. egg white * 1 T. honey * 1 t. rose water Beat together and then apply to the face and neck. Leave on for about 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. You will be amazed how refreshed you feel. After the facial, you can spritz your face with a toner made from: 1/2 c. distilled witchhazel * 1/2 c. rose or lavendar water * 3/4 t. vegtable glycerin (these items can be found at most pharmacies and health food stores and online at places like sagewomanherbs.com). Shake your toner before each use, and spray or pat on your face when it is feeling dry. (Read More...)
A LITTLE BEAUTY HISTORY
Mesolithic cave people used grease and castor oil to soften their skin, and plant dyes for tattoos. Lipstick was worn 5000 years ago near Babylon. In ';Biblical'; times, olive oil was rubbed into feet. Assyrians and Egyptians rubbed sand onto their skin to buff it smooth. Galen, the Greek, recommended finely ground snails to moisturize skin! The first commercial toothpowders appeared in the Renaissance, made from dried sage, nettles and powdered clay. In Elizabethan times, the absence of eyebrows was popular. Eyebrows were shaved and replaced with fake ones made of mouse skin! Sounds alot like what you see daily in America currently! Plucked and drawn back on... In ';The Art of Beauty,'; a book written in 1825, one of the most popular books of its time, women were advised to erase wrinkles by becoming overweight!

Natural Sunburn Care
As a fair-skinned, red-headed kid growing up in Los Angeles and Baja, sunburn was a regular part of my childhood. Chemical sprays were not effective and mainstream America was ignorant of aloe's properties. Once back in L.A., after a week in San Felipe, I had bright red burning skin and a sun blister on my eye which made it hard to close. A family friend suggested I smear pickle juice on my skin and hold a pickle on the blister. Desperate, I did it. Immediately, my skin stopped stinging and the blister went down. I stank but I was no longer hurting.
I later found out that vinegar is a home remedy for sunburn. People soak paper bags in vinegar and apply them onto burned skin to soothe. There are many folk remedies for sunburn that work quite well. Cold yogurt is silky on tender skin and is nutritious too. Cold fizzy mineral water helps relieve the pain. A cool bath with a handful of baking soda in it can help stop the stinging. The insides of cool cucumber skins rubbed on the skin feels good too. For severe burns, make a paste of slippery elm bark or baking soda, mixed with water, and spread onto burned area. And there is also aloe vera. Slit the leaf open and use gel.
To prevent peeling once sunburned, one folk remedy is to mix equal amounts of tomatoes and buttermilk. Mash and cover burn. Another peeling preventer is to mix 1/4 cup witch hazel extract, 3/4 cup rosewater, and 1 t. vegetable glycerin. Put this in a spray bottle and spray skin all over to moisturize and restore oils. This is good for dry skin whether burned or not. Just spray during the day, and dry skin goes away!

Have you ever considered the possibility of making your own homemade facials and spa recipes or beauty treatments? It's real easy. Following is a collection of
When it comes to homemade facials and other spa recipes there are a couple of things you should keep in mind. First you need to determine whether your skin is dry or oily.
If you're not sure try this simple test. Blend together the juice of one lemon, one-half cup of distilled water, one teaspoon of olive oil, and three ice cubes. Let sit until cubes are melted. Then apply to your thoroughly cleansed face and wait three hours.
Now dampen one cotton ball in the solution and gently wipe across your forehead. Wipe a second over your nose, and a third on your chin. If all cottonballs are clean your skin is dry. If the cotton ball is dark your skin is oily. And, if the cotton balls are only slightly soiled you've got a combination of both dry and oily skin.
Homemade Facial Scrub
Mix equal quantities of cornmeal and regular (not instant) oatmeal with hot water to make a paste. Apply while still warm, and leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing with cool water. For extra cleansing and tightening, add a few drops of spirits of camphor to the rinse water.
Homemade Exfoliate
After bathing exfoliate your body with a little baking soda then moisturize with with some mineral or vegetable oil or some body lotions for all over moisturizing
Homemade Moisturizer
Melt 1/8 cup of honey and let cool. Rub onto dry skin, and wait 15 minutes. Now, wash off with warm water followed by a cool water rinse. Apply petroleum jelly if necessary.
Homemade Bath Oil
Use a few drops of vegetable or mineral oil under the hot faucet.
Homemade Bubble Bath And Homemade Bath Gel
For inexpensive bath bubbles or bath gels simply use a lightly-scented, or scent-free shampoo. You'll notice when comparing labels that you'll find the same active ingredients in all three products. If you desire a scented bath, simply add your favorite fragrance to the bath water. You can even use your fragrance to scent candles.
Homemade Bath Salts
You don't have to spend a fortune to have a relaxing salt bath. Make your own bath salts by using ordinary epsom salts for soothing tired skin. You can add a favorite scented or or not, it up to you. Epsom salts work the same whether they're scented or not.
Homemade Pumice Stone
Smooth rough heels with a large stone wrapped in very fine sandpaper. Buff your heels gently then brush off any dry skin and then rub on a little petroleum jelly.
Homemade Body Powder
Plain cornstarch, baking soda or arrowroot flour does the trick and doesn't leave a sweet smell.
Homemade Lip Gloss
Fill a small vial with vegetable oil, and keep it in the bathroom. For a portable balm, put a pinch of vegetable shortening in an empty lipstick tube. Apply with finger or lipstick brush.
Homemade Astringent
Pat on cider vinegar, or use a mixture of equal parts rubbing alcohol and water. You can place sprigs of thyme or rosemary in either astringent recipe and let stand a few days for a hint of earthy fragrance.
Homemade Make-up Remover
Vegetable shortening, and vegetable oil are economical and very effective for removing makeup. Massage into skin and wipe off with tissue.
Homemade Hair Spray
Chop one lemon (or an orange for dry hair). Place in a pot with 2 cups water. Boil until half of the initial amount remains. Cool, strain, and place in a spray bottle. Store in the refrigerator.
If it is too sticky, add more water. Add one ounce rubbing alcohol as a preservative and then the spray can be stored for up to two weeks unrefrigerated.
I've tried making perfume and shampoo, shampoo is easy: Lemon juice, shine serum(or straight or curly),smushed avacado, baking soda and other stuff then the perfum was a spray of another perfume flowers and water(didnt work so good)
I imagine you would need some other stuff
