I am not sure what face/body/hair products are considered safer to use during pregnancy. At the moment I am using Clinique and L'oreal, should I change to all natural options? If so, has anyone heard of Korres? What cosmetics can be used during pregnancy?
the only thing you should try to avoid is bleaches for your hair, and over scented bubble baths, ( they pose a risk of causing an infection )What cosmetics can be used during pregnancy?
Only anti-acne facial washes are really what you have to avoid. I think the active ingredient is salactic acid.
doctors recommend avoiding getting your hair dyed within the first trimester, because the dyes contains chemicals proven to cause birth defects, but there have never been any studies proving that hair dye can affect a pregnancy.
also, the only reason baths are not recommended is if they are too hot, not because of risk of infection. the mucus plug prevents bacteria/water/semen from entering the uterus. the heat can increase your internal temperature and affect the development of the brain of your baby. you can take a hot bath if you want, just make sure the water is only just warm enough so that you don't have to ease yourself into the water.
I've never heard of changing cosmetics when becoming pregnant. If you have concerns though talk to your doctor.
it doesn't matter what you use the only way that cosmetics could be a problem is that during pregnancy you may experience pimples and black head more on your skin and other skin changes and makeup may just make it worse. but it won't do anything to the baby or to u...apart from maybe your skin, but that is easy fixed by washing your face after using makeup and make sure u don't sleep in it
I used Clinique when I pregnant with my first and he came out just fine. I've never heard of anyone having to switch cosmetics because they were pregnant.
Hair dye, that's a different story.
What you are using is fine. I have never heard of changing cosmetics when you are pregnant.
