How does an interview for a cosmetics counter in the mall go?

What questions do they ask, what were your answers? any tips? How qualified do you have to be?How does an interview for a cosmetics counter in the mall go?
Have you ever thought of doing your own cosmetics business? Be your own boss and don't work for someone else. You make all the profit and determine your income not someone you have to push a time clock for. Find a cosmetic line that you love and do that! I have been with a company for 5 yrs now and we do image consultanting and Spa Escapes. I set my own time and make a lot of money doing it. I work part time with this company and full time outside my home. I made $20,000 MORE working my own part time business than I did with my 40 hr a week job and I have a Master's Degree! I love the products they are absolutely the best out there. The company rewards you with trips, cash bonuses, cars, and Jewelry. I bet the costmetic counter job wouldn't do that! In the 5 yrs I have been with them working part time I have earned trips to Hawaii, Monte Carlo, France, Italy, San Francisco, and Costa Rica. I have a Brand New RED convertible Mustang that is mine to keep no matter what. I have had cash bonuses of over $5000 and will recieve another $6000 bonus in August. On top of all that they love to send you diamonds....Not a bad reward for doing something you love to do.

It is so easy anyone can do it. You can earn from your sales 30% to 55% profit and as you move up you earn an additional commission which could be up to 36%. We offer insurance, retirement plan, free ongoing training and support.

If you would like more info let me know. I would love to tell you more

A lot of role playing questions, like if a customer asked you all this, what would your answers be???
I have intervied for MAC Cosmetics before....it is pretty tough to be honest. I had to go through 4 interviews. The first was an impromptu one when I went to fill out an app. The second was with the Counter Manager. The third was a make-up interview where I had to do her makeup for day and night . And the last one was with the Corporate Manager. Exhausting. Prepare to answer a lot of questions about your salesmanship, because in the beauty industry, it's all about upselling the product. I have my estheticians license, so i know that helped A LOT. You will probably want to have your cosmetology license...but i don't think it's a necessity. After all of this, i declined the offer. To me, it was more about them trying to sell , sell, sell, and nothing really about the artistry of makeup, which was my true passion to begin with. Goodluck!
