Hi,
My mum usually shops at Chinatown - People's Park Complex, 3rd storey, Ley Wah; Ang Mo Kio Central, Blk 720, #01-4104, Red Tomatoes. She also found some cheap cosmetics at City Square, Johor Bahru. Can also try out Holiday Plaza at Johor Bahru if you don't mind taking a taxi there for RM 7 (but don't ask the taxi drivers for the price, just state RM 6 and they'll usually ask for RM 7)
Hope this helps.

How does one become a representative for a cosmetics line such as Christian Dior?
I am a Cosmetician at Shoppers Drug Mart. I love my job but I am looking to broaden my horizons. How does one become a rep for a major cosmetics line like Lise Watier, Christian Dior, Lancome.. etc?How does one become a representative for a cosmetics line such as Christian Dior?
I have worked for Benefit, Trish Mcevoy, and The Body Shop...all as a counter manager/manager. Sephora is a great store to start in...the acct execs will visit the store or counter, and if you have good sales, product knowledge, and look the part, they will notice you. That's what I have observed anyways. My friend got approached by Nars and they wanted her to become a rep/makeup artist for them. Start at Nordstrom or Macy's at a counter. I wish you luck! The cosmetics industry is fun.How does one become a representative for a cosmetics line such as Christian Dior?
first things you have to be a good salesman when you go most of them will put you on the spot and make you do a make over or go grab a customer. I have worked with Benefit, Estee Lauder, Prescriptives and am currently at Lancome and what I look for when interviewing is do you have personality, are you quick on your feet, can you sell and of course natural talent. This industry is alot of fun but also very competetive. You have to be aggressive but also be a team player it is a hard thing to master but will help you on your way. Good Luck!!!

Do you think it is acceptable to test cosmetics on animals?
How do you feel about the use of animals for medical research?
Do you think people should buy and wear fur coats? Some people think that people shouldn't wear animal furs. Do you agree? Why or why not?Do you think it is acceptable to test cosmetics on animals?
I think it is interesting that many of the same people who protest the wearing of fur, eating meat, or using animals in medical testing are the same people who endorse abortion and using human fetuses for stem cell research. There is something very disturbing about that to me. I think HUMAN life is precious. I think that we should not be cruel to animals, but we have every right to harvest them. People who are blindly against hunting have no real understanding of the suffering of animals when their population grows too large. Take for instance the whitetail deer. Left unharvested their numbers grow very quickly. Soon there are too many of them to be supported by the available land. They begin to move into more urban areas where they are hit by cars causing not only their own deaths, but also endangering human life. They also die slow and horrible deaths from starvation and disease. Far better for them that they be harvested by a skilled hunter. As far as medical research goes, I say if needed to protect human life then it should be done. If someone REALLY wants to protest it they should find out what medicines have been developed using animal research and refuse to use any of them, no matter how sick they get even if it causes them to lose their life. Anything short of that is simply lip service with to a cause with no real commitment. As for wearing fur and animal skins, I say if you like it go for it. My family does not wear fur, but I have leather shoes, belts, coats and so forth. I think sometimes leather clothing is called for and nothing else will do, if you know what I mean. lol If you don't think it is ok to use animals I suggest you read the Bible.Do you think it is acceptable to test cosmetics on animals?
Well... Bugs Bunny looks pretty good in red lipstick and a wig!!!
%26lt;giving wolf whistle%26gt;
ok.. hmmm.. if you just sell cosmetics without testing them.. people get hurt.. causing lawsuits.. which raises the price of cosmetics...
if you test cosmetics on ';paid volunteers'; then you have to pay them a lot to take the risks.. and the price of cosmetics goes up...
if you test the new cosmetics on prisoners... then people complain about maltreatment of prisoners.. and file lawsuits on their behalf.. and the price of cosmetics goes up...
But, if you test your cosmetics on cute little white mice raised by teenage boys to raise money for college... then some animal rights activists file lawsuits and the price of cosmetics goes up...
I think they are animals, better to take the risk of hurting them than hurting a person... some animals are better than others but a variety need to be used.. like pigs, mice, rabbits, dogs, cats, etc... these animals are raised for this purpose... or stolen from thier owners who let them stray into the streets...
We don't have fur.. animals do.. so if we kill them and take their fur.. we stay warmer...
however... I think that before someone wears a fur coat, they should go hunting for the animal that it is made from (not necessarily kill one though)... and then go see how the animals are raised.. the kinds of conditions these animals endure before they are slaughtered for a coat, gloves, boots, etc... they should also be aware of how many animals it took to make thier coat.. did it take 3? did it take 40? .. or did it take 100? (takes a LOT of white mice to make a good full length fur coat!!)
better yet... go shear a sheep.. card the wool.. spin it into yarn.. and knit your own wool coat.. you'll enjoy it a lot more!
oh.. wait.. hmmm.. I live in Texas.. uhmmm.. what is a coat?
no but on whom it should be tested before use
on you or on some other person
or give that products without testing
no because we can use a substitute for it.
i like to wear fur coats while they're still living.
also, clubbing baby seals
No.
There are alternatives for all of the things you listed and because of this there is no need to torture animals any longer. I think some researchers get a thrill by doing experiments on animals that can't defend themselves. Why else would they do it? It's sick really. We know what happens when a baby monkey is taken away from its mother and then exposed to horrible situations.....so why does it still happen????? Rabbits don't have the same eyes as humans, so why are cosmetics and other chemicals constantly dumped in them? So people can watch the rabbit break it's own back writhing in pain? I tell ya....the more I learn about the horrors animals go through the more sick I get. I am ill when I think that are people out there that still feel it is necessary to make an animal go through hell so that we can look nice. Please support alternative research techniques.
I don't agree with animal testing or the wearing of furs or anything. I think all animals have a right to life, just like humans do.
Don't worry, I am not a member of PETA or anything. I just think animal deserve respect too.
For some critical tests using other animal is unavoidable.
Eating animals are also unavoidable.
We can not live or survive without killing others.
If we are sympathetic to all this animals then why we are against virus and bacterias - they also should have their own right.
However I do not support wearing fur coat or leather jacket for luxury or testing cosmetics on animal. Testing of cancer medicine and a fave cream should be looked into differently.
Only if they look pretty.
I think that this opinion based question is eligible to a lot of answers, so I am giving my own opinion on this very interesting issue.
It is acceptable that animals are used for medical testing when there are not available any alternative research techniques. For example there are biological tissues as a substitute for the skin tests and you maybe have seen that in certain cosmetics is written: it has not been tested to animals. They mean that their cosmetics have been tested in synthetic biological tissues.
This is a link showing what is valid in the EU regarding the test of cosmetics in animals.
http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/cosmetics鈥?/a>
But it is not always possible to avoid the use of animals in drug testing.
The question is on the number of animals used in every experiment (we have to minimize the number)and how they are handled.
There are specific directives in the European Union (and I suppose that exist also in the US)that are regulating this procedure.
Wear fur coats to protect ourselves from cold is one thing - if we are living in Siberia or in Alaska, for example - and it is accepted and wear them for luxury, is something different.
Shoes and huts are mostly from beef and other animals that are used for human's food, so humans are not going hunting to find the leather for some absolutely indispensable things, like his shoes. They are taking it from the home animals that he is feeding for his food. This is also acceptable for me, depends only on the living conditions of the animal and the transport conditions while they bringing it to the specific place to kill.
I wonder that some people believes that wild life depends on hunting to maintain the equilibrium. Wild life has it's own rules that are maintaining the equilibrium. The extinction of certain species alters this equilibrium.
There is also another aspect of animals abuse, that of transformation of the animal into ';a spy';.
The following link is a Q asked here some time ago, showing this kind of experiments on sharks.

I really don't give a dang, we use animals like bunnies and rats and they multiply like there's no tommorow. And would you rather test cosmetics on humans or have human skin coats? Save the rat or the person, what would you choose?
My friend's a diabetic and I have another one with lucimea had they not tested certaint drugs on dogs and rabbits both would be dead right now.
Yes I think its acceptable that animals are used for medical testing. I raither they were not but as of yet there is no other method that can act as a biological active system.
The others I would disagure with but each is to there own.

How can I make my home made organic cosmetics last longer?
Is there some kind of natural preservative that I can add that will increase the shelf life of my facial masks, lip glosses, etc. that I have made? How can I make my home made organic cosmetics last longer?
I'm not sure, the best idea I have is just to make sure you are sealing them all correctly. Good luck with all of that! I think it's wonderful that you are interested in organic cosmetics! Check out www.burtsbees.com to take the easy way out and just buy natural make up! :)How can I make my home made organic cosmetics last longer?
Sealing them properly along with storing them in a cool area like a refrigerator would be an effective way to extend their shelf life. Bathroom areas get too hot and steamy from the shower and aren't ideal areas to store things like that, or medicine.
Goodluck!

How are cosmetics made and what are they made from?
Whenever he sees i've put on makeup (eyeliner + eyeshadow) he gives me a big lecture about how makeup is made. He says that water treatment plants ';scrape the gunk off the top of the water and sell it to pharmasutical (sp) companies, and they make cosmetics out of it';. Is this true? If not, can someone tell me how makeup is made? Thanks in advanceHow are cosmetics made and what are they made from?

Howdy! Why not try starting your search here: http://www.salonsinwashington.com/Category/Skin-Care/ There are plenty of shops that sell a good skin care makeup. A good idea would be to have a skin analysis. You'll want to know if you need something hypoallergenic, oil-free, etc...

What are the positives and negatives of permanent cosmetics?
Anyone gotten permanent cosmetics?
I am definitely getting my eyebrows done, but I'm not sure if I should get my lips done (lip liner/color) as well. What are the positives and negatives of permanent cosmetics?
eyebrows is all I would do.
Positives: Never have to do it again!
negatives: you wont get to change the color, even as you age and your color needs change as well
a bit costly considering what little you gain (about 5 minutes in the morning)
Occasionally it is messed up a bit, will scare or leave the color in the wrong areas, run or simply be a bad job. What are the positives and negatives of permanent cosmetics?
I have a friend who had her lips done. She had it done outside the lip line too, so her lips would look bigger.
Her lips don't look bigger they just look like she was really messy putting on her lip color.
I think it's ok to do, just stay in the lines.
positive...u don't have to do them every day negative when u get old and ur skin sags its not going to be in the same place

What cosmetics are most important and what colors?
My small company is wanting to expand and would like to know what cosmetics are most important to people ( i.e. lipstick, lipgloss, blush, powder, foundation, eyeshadow, liner) what colors would you like to see? We currently do not offer foundation because most people are pretty set in their ways in terms of foundation do you think we should start making foundation? What color eyeshadows would you like best? What cosmetics are most important and what colors?
I think you should start making foundation. It just perfects the look and makes it look finished and polished. I ind that eye shadows are very important. The eyes in my opinion can make or break the look of the person. For me I like the blues and purples for the eye shadows. Also bronze and golds. But pink is a must have, because it's a generic colour that most love. Good luck with this! :DWhat cosmetics are most important and what colors?
All of it is very important, but I think you should offer eyeshadow pallets, like the 120 pro pallet from beauties-factories.com

What is the best way to keep cosmetics fresh?
I've been getting organised for Christmas (!!!) and have bought a few things like body lotions, shower creams and perfumes. What is the best way to store them to keep them from going off?!What is the best way to keep cosmetics fresh?
If they are still sealed from the factory, all you have to do is keep them in a cool dark place.,Try finding a drawer that's on the North side of your house away from sunlight. Put them in separate zip lock bags so their unique scents wont mingle. They will be fine! What is the best way to keep cosmetics fresh?

Aditi, you are great! Of course, not.

You are right; they should have do an ecception. And say, also that all sunscreen products are getting ';old'; just some months after opening the bottle. Report Abuse

whenever i'm running late, i put my cosmetics on in the car. Once when I went to the stable, my cosmetics were toast! they were all lumpy and disgusting! so i learned to put my cosmetics in my cooler so they weren't fried. they dont have to be in a fridge, just somewhere cool Report Abuse
I keep nailpolish, foundations, sunscreen and aloe both feel good in cold in hot weather, and most of my face products in the mini fridge. The nailpolish doesn't become lumpy and thick as fast, the foundation is the same way. Report Abuse

What is the best way to organize cosmetics?
I have a lot of make up, and dont know the best way to organize, I dont like the cabootles stlye box, I like it to be easy access and organized, thank you girls..plus if you have a picture or web that will help lots. What is the best way to organize cosmetics?
I've been using a small plastic set of drawers very much like the 26-Drawer one on the page I've linked to. It's lasted well over 7 years now, and it's still in good shape. The mix of wide %26amp; narrow drawers works well for cosmetics, since eyeshadows, blush, etc. will fit in the wider, while the narrow are good for pencils %26amp; tools. What is the best way to organize cosmetics?
well I have all of my make up that i use every day in a travel size make up bag. other wise i keep the rest in the top drawer in my bathroom or make up bags. i usually separate make up and nail polish and then lighter colors and darker colors. hope this helps. target has some cute make up containers that are see through those are great.
The below is what I have been using for years and I love it! I keep it out on my vanity and it makes organizing and accessing my make up a breeze.

First buy a package of ziplock bags, and then organize makeup by what kind it is, such as:
Foundation
powder
eyeshadow
eyeliner
mascara
blush
bronzer
concealer
lipliner
lipstick
lipgloss
glitter
Example: Gather all your eyeshadows together and put them in a bag, gather all your lipsticks and put them in another bag....
Then when you're done, put your bags in a drawer
There you go. I don't have that much makeup, so I dont have to do this...
You can get an organize shelf thing. The kind u can by at walmart or target. It is shape like a box and it come in 3 or 4 or even more pull out drawers. If this helps.

How to get rid of the dark circles around the eyes without using cosmetics?
How to get rid of the dark circles around the eyes without using cosmetics? Through natural eye exercise and home remedies i need the solution to remove the dark circles. How to get rid of the dark circles around the eyes without using cosmetics?
Dark circles can treated with regular and gentle care.Cover your eyes with cotton soaked in warm milk for 15 minutes everyday to remove the dark circles around your eyes or dip cotton pads into freshly extracted mint juice, flatten them and place them on closed eyelids for 10 to 15 minutes. Check out http://useinfo-darkcircles.blogspot.com/ for more info. How to get rid of the dark circles around the eyes without using cosmetics?
鈥?Try drinking two glasses of cranberry juice a day, you will need to do this for at least a week before you start noticing a difference.
鈥?Food allergies and sensitivities play a major part in under-eye circles. Processed foods with artificial colors and preservatives as well as milk allergies can cause this problem.
鈥?Search the Internet which abounds with home remedies. While the most common are cucumbers and tea bags, there are a number of others. Feel free to test them out, as some may work for some people, but use common sense.
鈥?Vitamin K cream helps to diminish dark under eye circles.
鈥?The ingredient in Preparation H that once could shrink the area around the eyes is no longer put in the product in the US, according to their website, so unless you live in Canada, just pass on the Hemorrhoid creams.
鈥?Cutting onions can help you to cry out some of the moisture under and around your eyes. However it isn't recommended that you carry out this procedure daily but done short-term, it will reduce the darkness under the eyes somewhat. Using the tea bag method under your eyes straight afterwards also helps. The puffiness may not reduce immediately but it will shortly afterwards.
鈥?Dark circles may be caused by inflamed or enlarged veins beneath the skin. Try taking butcher's broom. Taken daily, this common herb (used to treat weak circulation, hemorrhoids and varicose veins) has been effective in reducing dark circles.
鈥?Wear sunscreen under your eyes, and if you wear it all the time(as you should), try to put a stronger spf under your eyes than you do on your face. This way, the skin under your eyes does not darken as quickly as the rest of your face; so your circles seem lighter. If you do this all year, you may end up not needing concealer at all.
鈥?Try eye exercises. It can rejuvenate your periorbital skin by improving circulation.
鈥?Many facial makeup products these days contain some level of spf. Read the labels carefully to determine if your makeup is protecting your skin already. Usually, they contain 10-15% spf.
The main reason for dark circles is lack of sleep. If this is the reason you sport dark circles; then it will be accompanied by puffy eyes. In order to taker care of this you need to get a few hours of good rest every day. Although experts state that you need 8 hours of rest every night, I beg to differ. I believe that it鈥檚 not the number of hours that you sleep but the quality of rest that you get that matters. In order to rest well, make sure that you are sleeping in a comfortable room with proper ventilation. Your mattress and pillows must be comfortable and support your neck and back well to ensure that you sleep well and are not tossing and turning the entire night. If you are unable to sleep well then you must use an eye mask. Drain out all unwanted sounds if needed
tips:
- Prepare a paste of pineapple juice and turmeric. Apply it on the under eye area. It is good for removing dark circles.

Let it dry for 15-20 minutes and then wash your eyes using cold water. Apply cucumber juice and with the help of cotton ball under eye area. This is a very useful home remedy for dark circle under eyes.
- Almond oil is one of the best home remedies for dark circles under the eyes. Do a regular under eye massage using almond oil for 15 minutes. This is very beneficial and safe natural treatment for removing dark circles.
- Mix 2 tablespoons of tomato juice and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, and apply this mixture on under eye area. This is an effective remedy for dark circle under eyes.
- Another simple home remedy for dark circle under eye is rose water. Apply it using cotton under your eyes. It cools your eyes and helps in removing dark pigmentation.

What is the big deal with Mac cosmetics?
I see so many questions on what is best this %26amp; that %26amp; I've not found anything in Mac that's a good deal or that hot of a product. Some of the same quality is in Avon %26amp; Mary Kay %26amp; some other big companies that are sold hand to hand %26amp; have a guarantor right in your neighborhood. What is the big deal with Mac cosmetics?
Basically I think it's just so people can tell others they are wearing MAC and everyone knows it's expensive. With their foundation, I saw nothing special and actually didn't like it. I know they have tons of great eye shadow colors, but I believe it has more to do with them being able to say it's MAC. What is the big deal with Mac cosmetics?
i dont like their foundations, nor their lipgloss. I feel as though the foundation is too heavy , and the glosses are too sticky -and i hate overly sticky gloss. And the stuff is really expensive- I can buy 5 lipglosses for 20 at Vickies Secret , and i know that stuff will last at least an hour . I do however , like the brightness of their eyeshadows , but I refuse to pay 15 for one eyeshadow , im not rich like that , and I have common-economical sense to not spend that kind of money on one eyeshadow.
However, liking makeup is subjective. You may like one brand , and I may not like that brand. Its all about finding the makeup that works for you and highlites your best features
Different reasons.. if you go into Macy's compared to other brands.. the lipsticks...lipglosses..eyeshadows and blushes are typically cheaper than that of Estee Luader.. or Shiseido.. or Lancome...or Chanel...or Dior..
They have a wide selection of newly changing limited edition..a lot of models and actresses in movies use MAC...
I dont think theyre foundation is the best.. as it does tend to break me out..but theyre blushes, eyeshadows, and lipsticsk are all excellent staying power,..along with highly pigmented..and a great price..
They have awesome products that make you look flawless. They are expensive but you get what you pay for....even their brushes make a huge difference...their products are nothing like avon and mary kay. Their products have higher pigments for better color and more bold statements.
M.A.C. is my favorite cosmetics company. They have a huge selection of eyeshadow, their mineral powder is awesome, I love all their eyeliners (liquid and pencil.) They are a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for, and in my opinion, M.A.C. is worth it! :)
did you know the majority of mac's products aren't REALLY mac's? they are part of a franchise with other companies... whose make-up really isn't all that and a bag of chips.
It's a really good company. They have wide variety and really good eyeshadows and everything. x]
They have a wide selection and (i think personally) a lot of stuff lasts and is good quality
Its good company, but they have wide selection of things.
its amazing :)
Nothing. Many people tend to like MAC because they think it is better than any other brand on this planet even though they don't know there is not much difference from a generic brand. Sure, MAC might be a good brand but to me, it's just plainly an overrated make up brand. All makeup ingredients and formulas in MAC as just as similar in any other brand you would find in Walgreens or at Target. It might be one or two ingredients off, but hey, it's not like you know what their purposes are anyway.
The only reason why MAC is expensive is because the company has to pay factory for designing labels, fancy packaging, and advertisement so that the product looks for attracting and opulent. They just put the makeup together which is probably worth about $2 or even less and slap on some nice MAC labels and makes you pay $20. Just because there is a MAC label. lol. Mac companies have to also pay salespeople to exude and persuade people into trying their samples and hopefully getting them into buying it. Cover girl and Maybelline is less expensive because no one goes around and lets you tests their things...or have a sales representative help you put on the item. I can just honestly say, I don't feel stupid at all not for shopping there. I'm not going to pay $14-$20 just for a jar of eyeshadow that I might not even be using everyday and only has a shelf life of one year.
It's not the brand you buy, whether cheap or expensive, it's about whether you know how to apply the makeup correctly and picking the right color for your skin. I use Wet N Wild and L'Oreal brands and I get compliments alll the time.
Besides, the economy is running pretty bad, who has $$ to even afford that? Plain stupid and hyped. =)

What cosmetics line should I apply to?
Hi there. I am a makeup artist with about a year of freelance experience and a few months of experience working for clinique. I recently applied for MAC cosmetics and went through the interviewing process and am not sure if I got the job. However, I have been told to apply to freelance for other lines like smashbox, urban decay, etc. Do you have any suggestions on where to apply and how to do so?
Thanks so much! What cosmetics line should I apply to?
First you have to ask yourself, do you want to travel around and do freelancing? Or do you want a part/full time position? I worked for MAC and if they really liked your work during the interview, they would contact you within 2 days if they don't contact the HR to find out the status. I also worked at Clinique as a Manager, and perosonally I liked working for MAC better because I am very creative with colors and MAC gave me an option to show my creativity compared to Clinique, which is mainly about skincare...
So, do some research about each company and see where do YOU fit the best and apply there. To ace an interview, dress professional, show confidence, know about the company--such as: what group they are targeting...and, most improtantly, do you see yourself working there for longterm?
Hope this helps!

Whats the different between these two MAC cosmetics Products?
I honestly find myself buying most of my makeup from MAC and Makeup forever...
And i could never figure out the difference between MAC's studio fix powder, and the Mineralize skinfinish natural?
I currently have the Mineralize skinfinish natural.
Thanks!Whats the different between these two MAC cosmetics Products?
the MSF's usually give a more dewy/glow affect (which i dont like, it should be used as more of a highlighter) and the studio fix(which i use) gives u a matte affect and it covers up better. =)Whats the different between these two MAC cosmetics Products?
MAC's studio fix powder has more of a matte effect, and goes on a tad thicker. I like the Mineralize skinfinish natural more because it doesn't feel like there's tons of product on your face.

How many animals were killed due to cosmetics testing in 2006?
I'm doing a persuasive essay on this topic (cosmetics testing on animals) and I need to know how many animals were killed in 2006 from it. Does anybody know? How many animals were killed due to cosmetics testing in 2006?
Between 25 and 50 billion animals are
meaninglessly killed in laboratories each year.
From the first link
Second link is companies who don't use animals to test
Third is companies who still use animals
The number is credible if all animals are considered. How many animals were killed due to cosmetics testing in 2006?
According to the Anti-Vivisection Society, millions every year.
Too d-mn many!!! I'm sure you could get a more specific figure from PETA.org. Good luck with your essay.

How do I get hired for a cosmetics counter with no expierence?
I am going to an cosmetics open house at macys but I do not have any cosmetic work expierence. How should I present myself to get hired? Should I lie and say I have cosmetics expeierence or is there another way around this. Professional make-up artist opinion preferred....... What did you do to start besides make up school????????? What should I do about this job fair. How do I get hired for a cosmetics counter with no expierence?
Professional makeup artists do not work at counters. With that cleared up. You don't need to have a lick of experience to work at a makeup counter. You just have to have well applied makeup, look trendy and appear outgoing. Don't lie about the experience because they honestly couldn't care less. Counter girls are called beauty advisors not make up artists because they advise you which products to buy per their company training. The company tells you what products to give to someone who has oily skin, dry skin, combo skin, etc. Your job is to sell the product not necessarily be good at makeup.
Counters are a good way to get your feet wet with makeup. You can get books and videos on makeup and then try out the techniques on your customers. That's what I did for years before I was a pro. I worked all through high school and college for 8 years as a beauty advisor at various counters and when I started out I had zero counter experience and was just someone who loved makeup. I came in dressed in a stylish outfit with my hair and makeup professional and in style. They hired me for the ';look';. I told them how much I loved makeup and how I liked to practice on family and friends. They hired me on the spot. I used the counters as my way to experiment different looks. The more hands on practice on as many different faces you can get the better. It doesn't do any good to learn a new makeup technique from a book or video and not get to practice it. After I worked at counters for several years I went to a professional makeup artist academy to understand what really sets a professional apart from a non-professional. Professional makeup is night and day difference from counter work but the hands on experience I got helped me better apply the concepts to a variety of skintones and faces. The biggest thing that hit me in school was how different pro makeup was from what I had done for 8 years. I was very glad to have that counter experience though and it was a fun job.
Dress nicely, and spend extra time making your makeup look good. Do not walk in with glitter all over your face and heavy eyeliner. They are hring a look. Women buy makeup from other women they want to look like. If you walk in with heavy eyeliner and glitter you narrow your marketability and they won't hire you. Especially at Macy's where they tend to be more conservative. Let your clothes be the trendiest thing on you but NO MINI SKIRTS OR CLEAVAGE! They see cleavage and they'll tend to look the other way unless you have other counter experience, then they'll just pull you aside and give you ';the talk';.
Go in there with lots of confidence and smiles. They want to see that you aren't nervous about approaching customers or applying product on them. Looking shy or nervous will get you an immediate NO. If you have a line you really like and know you want don't be afraid to say you'd really like this line or that line but let them know you are open to any line. Sometimes if you don't get the line you want you can transfer to another line after you get some experience under your belt. Good Luck! :)How do I get hired for a cosmetics counter with no expierence?
Date the manager! Haha just kidding ^_^ You should just tell the truth but make yourself sound smart, and tell them how you can help them and all. Make sure you present yourself in a nice way because first impressions are everything!

How does one get into modeling for cosmetics or Hair ?
I Live in Phoenix Az, and would like to get into doing some modeling for cosmetics or Hair for companies. Where do I get started ?How does one get into modeling for cosmetics or Hair ?
first off do NOT do what the first girl said. you dont just call up makeup companies- they would get very annoyed and they dont just hire girls off the street- every cosmetics company and beauty product company uses modeling agencies to find girls for ads and campaigns, so youd need to be signed with an agency first. its extremely tough to get signed, and you need to fit a lot of really strict physical criteria. most aspiring models think you only need to be tall for runway, but thats not the case; any model who wants to model clothing or beauty in print also has to be tall, slim and fit sample sizes (size 2 or 4). unfortunately, you cant just have a pretty face, even if you are just modeling makeup or the like. criteria that modeling agencies require are as follows:
1) be at least 5'8, although some agencies sign 5'9 and up unless you have an amazing look and are 5'8
2) fit sample size clothing, which would be a size 2 or 4
3) have the right measurements: typically 34-24-34 or very close to
4) have a unique look that photographs well (especially for beauty, you must have excellent skin, hair and teeth as well)
5) stand out in a sea of beautiful, tall and thin girls who are also submitting to the agency.
if you live in or near a big city, thats where youd want to look for agencies, as smaller towns typically dont have many, if any, opportunities for models or legit agencies. also beware of modeling ';schools'; and agencies that ask you for any money at all up front or a fee for being signed, as well as places that tell you you need to use a specific photographer and pay for pictures. about 90% of the opportunities out there for models and people that claim to be agents are frauds, so aspiring models have to be extremely careful, especially when just starting out. getting work in any division of modeling is incredibly difficult, but beauty is something that is cutthroat competitive, so its not just as easy as calling MAC and asking if you can model for them- theyd probably hang up on you. very experienced models typically get to do things like that, and you must have a look that really stands out against the thousands of other gorgeous girls out there trying to do this. if you want any more info or advice, you can email me; ive been a model for about 7 years and have been advising aspiring models for the past yearHow does one get into modeling for cosmetics or Hair ?

Where can I find how much cosmetics are in Japan?
Im curious to see if certain brands from there are cheaper there than here. Anybody know where I can find out?Where can I find how much cosmetics are in Japan?
Its in Japanese, but you can use the following site
http://kakaku.com/beauty_health/ss_0018_…
It compares products in the same category and makes a lit.
On the right, it is divided by categories.
There are many on-line translators you can use to navigate this page.Where can I find how much cosmetics are in Japan?
I'm pretty sure that although japan IS expensive, the japanese cosmetic brands are cheaper in Japan, since there is no importation tax and stuff that they have in america for japanese cosmetics. Also, there are a lot of cheap cosmetics, so you can get cheap cosmetics for cheaper in japan than in the US. likewise, it the same backwards, American brands are really expensive in Japan....(%26gt;_%26lt;)
For Japanese brand, its always cheaper to buy it from Japan!
I use this site https://www.japantodoor.com/index.asp to help me buy and send all my shopping in Japan for me!
Even with their service fee and shipping, it is STILL cheaper than me buying here... of course, i buy a lot more at once, so its cheaper over all!! I am so hook to Japanese brand Shampoo and all the whiting goods...
Im told a common brand for young people in Japan is a company called AYURA. The cosmetics are typically 2000-4000 yen. a bit on the pricy side in my opinion, thankfully my wife is the only one that uses them.real world myspace

What empty containers does the MAC cosmetics recycling program accept?
I have a lot of empty fluidline jars, but some people have told me they only accept plastic empties so I need a clarification. What empty containers does the MAC cosmetics recycling program accept?
The only things that are not accepted are brushes, wooden products (most eye and lip pencils), and in most regions, eyeshadow pots without the silver pan. Fluidlines are accepted, but if you want to make sure, all the boxes of items that can be returned have a Back 2 MAC logo on one of the inner flaps. What empty containers does the MAC cosmetics recycling program accept?
Yes fluidline jars are included in the program...

What minerals are used in different cosmetics?
And what purpose do they serve? I need this answer for a science project. What minerals are used in different cosmetics?
If you are asking about mineral make-ups, I will give you a quick run down of the typical ingredients used in high end powdered make-ups, but you will have to do some research on your own to determine which are minerals and what their individual components are
Mica: Used to add pigmentation
Silica: Used to help powdered makeup slide on better
Ascorbic Acid ( Vitamin C ) which is a natural anti-oxidant for healthy skin
Zinc oxide, Titanium oxide,
Retinyl Palmitate are all used to nourish the skin
Talcum Powder:Used as filler and to reduce shineWhat minerals are used in different cosmetics?
Look at the ingredients on the package. And google em.
Try this! It has NO chemicals, fillers, or toxins as some makeups. It's 100% pure and natural, offers free shipping and doesn't cost a ton! I've used it for years with awesome results!
http://simply-minerals.com/
talc is a big one. It's used in powders for oil absorption and sheerness, and in foundation for lightening the color. I know mica is also used, I think for highlighting and shine.
One of the first ingredients listed in eye shadow is usually talc - a magnesium silicate mineral. Its platy crystal habit is in part the reason why talc has been an important ingredient in cosmetics since 3500 B.C. The plates glide smoothly across each other, allowing makeup to be applied easily. They lie across the pores in the skin and lessen the chance of clogging pores, while providing texture to the skin. Yet they are translucent enough not to be seen. Talc is resistant to acids, bases, and heat and tends to repel water. In addition to eye shadows, talc is used in loose and pressed powders, blushes, is a filler in some deodorants, and is added to lotions and creams. Talc can also be found in chewing gum and pharmaceuticals.
Mica, a mineral widely used in eye shadows, powder, lipstick, and nail polish, is added to give luster or pearlescence to a product. Mica is resistant to ultraviolet light, heat, weather and chemical attack and adheres to the skin. Like talc, it has excellent slip characteristics and may be used to replace talc in a makeup. When coated with iron oxide, mica flakes sparkle with a gold tint.
Kaolin, a clay, is added to makeup to absorb moisture. It covers the skin well, will stay on the skin, and is resistant to oil. Kaolin and another clay, bentonite, are added to the earth-based face masks or packs predominately for their cleansing effects. Clays are also used as fillers in different products.
Powdered calcite, a calcium carbonate, absorbs moisture. Because of this, calcite and a magnesium carbonate, processed from dolomite, are added to powders to increase the ability of the makeup to absorb moisture.
When it comes to makeup, color is the name of the game. Minerals provide the color to eyes, cheeks, lips, and nails. Iron oxide, one of the most important color minerals, was used by Cleopatra in the form of red ochre as rouge. Today, iron oxides give red, orange, yellow, brown, and black tones to makeup. Chrome oxides are used for greens; manganese violet for purple; ground lapis lazuli may be added to makeup for blue. Ultramarine blue and pink coloring is made from a mixture of kaolin, soda ash, sulfur, and charcoal. Even gold has historically been used as a colorant. Ancient Egyptians used gold to color skin and hair. Gold can still be found in powders and makeup to add a 鈥榬ich鈥?golden sheen to the skin.
As an artist starts a painting with a bright white canvas to give the colors brightness and intensity, titanium dioxide is added to brighten and intensify the color of makeup, and to give whiteness and opacity. Titanium dioxide is also a natural sun block and, like talc, iron oxides, and gold, it has been used for centuries. Titanium dioxide can be found in any makeup--shadow, blush, nail polish, lotions, lipstick, and powders. Titanium dioxide also makes Oreo cookies frosting extra-white and is the 鈥楳鈥?on M%26amp;M鈥檚 candy.
Minerals also find their way into health-care products we use daily. Salt is effective in treating skin disease and is used in some soaps. Fluorite, processed for fluoride, is added to toothpaste and drinking water to help prevent tooth decay. Calcium carbonate (calcite) and baking soda (nahcolite) are abrasives in toothpaste. A borax and beeswax mixture is added to cleansing creams as an emulsifier to keep oil and water together. Boric acid is a mild antiseptic and is added to powder as a skin-buffering agent. Zinc oxide is added to creams to allow the cream to cover more thoroughly. Zinc oxide ointment, which contains approximately 20% zinc oxide, is used to heal dry, chapped skin. When an unlucky hiker runs into poison ivy, calamine-base lotions are often used to soothe the itchy skin. Calamine is another name for hemimorphite, a zinc silicate mineral.
idk but sometimes they are harmful to your skin so be careful! the $1 ones may have chemicals that can olden your skin! :(

Are the deals for Victoria Secret cosmetics and body sprays/perfume that are online available in stores?
You know how online the Beauty Rush lipgloss is 1 for $7 or 2 for $12, and the Double Body Mist is $12 for 1 or $25 for 3? Are offers like these availabe in storeS?Are the deals for Victoria Secret cosmetics and body sprays/perfume that are online available in stores?
Not always... it will often say online and in store sale. They sell out faster in stores, so the sales change more often. The ones you mentioned are usually on sale after Christmas, so check the store right now... before it sells out.real world myspace

How much do you spend on cosmetics?
Recently, I have switched cosmetics from Shiseido to Shu Uemura, and the price difference is negligible. However, overall, nice desiger cosmetics can really add up! A set of professional-quality brushes runs about $500-600.
How much do you spend on cosmetics, including tools (brushes, eyelash curlers, etc.)?How much do you spend on cosmetics?
hahaa i get all the cheap drug store stuff...hey it works... plus when it runs out you can just buy more conviently!! also you can buy as much stuff for less!!! =]How much do you spend on cosmetics?
ummm like $50. hello are you crazy! unless youre using this on a celebrity or you are a celebrity then maybe you should try drugstore products. they work just as well
According to my wife, I am spending way to much on cosmetics for myself.
I would agree around $200 per six months. As far as your brushes I would stick with like MAC.. the quality is great!! No need to spend $$500!!
Sparingly. I usually buy em as I need em. I try to not get caught up in buying cosmetics friviously otherwise I'd be bankrupt everytime I walk into Shiseido. In a year I may spend tops $150- $200. I also find drugstore brands are just as good with their colors. They really do have some long lasting ones unlike 15 years ago when your eyeshadow dissapeared in 3-4 hours of wear.

How do I approach a very attractive girl who works in the cosmetics department at Macy's?
I was at the mall doing some holiday shopping for my sisters and I saw this very attractive girl at MAC Cosmetics. I've seen her there a couple of times and now I want to make a move. However, everytime I see her there, she's busy putting makeup on someone or helping out other customers.
How do I approach a very attractive girl who works in the cosmetics department at Macy's?
try the direct one:
wait in line and when she gets to you tell her that you think she's gorgeous and will she grab a coffee with you during her break.
How do I approach a very attractive girl who works in the cosmetics department at Macy's?
wait until noone is at the counter, then go over and get a rap going with her. i do it all the time. use humor and act normal and confident. if you do it right, you should be able to get her number at the very least. if you are really good (like me), you should be able to get to third base with her when she gets done with work for the day. good luck.
Walk up to her counter and say ';Look here, Ho. It's time for you to drop your pants and hand over your V-card to me. And don't make me ask twice!!!';
Ladies LOVE this type of aggressive approach.
just go up to her and be like '; i wanted to buy this -'; then just stare at her . '; shell be like you wanted to buy this ? and you say wow your hot ! and then lick your lips %26lt;------ dude im tripping !!
maybe take one sister along and find her and ask to give your sister a makeover and flirt while shes putting on the makeup?
approach her like any other girl..confidence is key

What company is the best in cosmetics from the Dead Sea?
I am a 32 yo woman of fair complexion but a bit of saggy skin, somewhat lifeless. I am curios about cosmetics from the Dead Sea (they say it's good) but I don't know what brand to choose. I've seen it at the mall but it is too confusing. Help anyone? What company is the best in cosmetics from the Dead Sea?
Hi
I have been living in the Unites States for 7 years now and I really enjoy Premier Dead Sea products. Ahava used to be good, but Premier, I feel, does better to my skin. They also have more products.
Anyway, here is the real secret: you can get the products at the website www.premierdeadsea.com, but they sometimes have over the phone specials that are not on the website. That's how I save money on my products.
Happy buyingWhat company is the best in cosmetics from the Dead Sea?
I've lived in Israel for a time, and I've always enjoyed Ahava. The benefit of Ahava is that their products are not overpriced. You can purchase them at www.bathandbodyworks.com and it's relatively reasonable. The fragrance is light and makes your skin feel very soft.
To improve the quality of your skin, also try taking fish oil and MSM. It does wonders to the quality and glow of your skin (prevents acne) and also promotes elasticity. It's a wonderful combination.

How can I tell if cosmetics and toiletries contain oil?
I am beginning 500-calorie, hormone replacement diet. I've been instructed not to use anything on my body (cosmetics, soaps, lotions, hair products, etc.) that contain oils or fats. How can I tell which items contain these ingredients? How can I tell if cosmetics and toiletries contain oil?
Most of the time oils on soaps, cosmetics, body wash make up will tell you. It may say something like Mineral Oil, grape Seed oil and so on. The thing is that the USA does to regulate cosmetics and soaps. Which really sucks! The Swiss due and they will always tell you what is in their products. Crazy to think that the US can put whatever they want in out products and don't have to tell us.
I am not sure why you don't want to use products with oils it? But...some oils are very good for you. Like Grape seed or natural oils found in Arbonne products. Mineral Oil is not good for you because your pores are not large enough to absorb the oils, it just will sit on top of your skin and block your pores. How can I tell if cosmetics and toiletries contain oil?
It will be listed in the ingredients on the package. Most things have oil of some sort. I wonder why your doctor would have you try a diet like this. It doesn't sound right.

What do they do with cosmetics that have been smashed in photo shoots?
For example, photographers often tip out nail polish or smash cakes of foundation and photograph them in a spread - what do they do with those cosmetics? Isn't it a waste? What do they do with cosmetics that have been smashed in photo shoots?
Yes, wasteful in terms of creating garbage, but they don't care because the cost of the wasted product is nothing compared to the profits that the ad will generate. I suppose the product looks more appealing because you can see the colour and texture better that way. What do they do with cosmetics that have been smashed in photo shoots?
Sorta, but not as much as the time I just wasted with this lame *** question.
it probably just goes to show how cheap the products actually are.
It adds a really cool effect. I don't think they actually do it to each container of makeup, they probably just use old pictures.
Yep, they just throw it out. Even in the department store display cases product often gets damaged from the hot lights. You'd be shocked by how much product is ';damaged out'; each year!real world myspace

Why do some manufacturers of cosmetics, toiletries, and household products STILL test on animals?
There are plenty of companies that DO NOT test on animals and they're very profitable. Why do some companies still test on animals, despite the fact that it has been proven that animal testing is not necessary? Why do some manufacturers of cosmetics, toiletries, and household products STILL test on animals?
Because it's cheap, effective, and most consumers don't read the fine print, or really don't care. They just want a cheaper product. Until we as consumers truly band together against these companies, they won't change. Why do some manufacturers of cosmetics, toiletries, and household products STILL test on animals?
Wal Mart can buy it cheaper and sell it cheaper. God forbid a corporation should have some ethics and do the right thing for the right reason instead of for profit.
Is this a rant, or a legitimate question? You need to ask the companies themselves what their reason is, all you will get here is conjecture or retorts. If you do not like the answer you get, then take action by publicizing the names of companies that still do animal testing, and ALSO give the names of those that do NOT, thereby allowing public pressure in the marketplace (IF there is enough thereof) to persuade the companies doing animal testing to use other means.
Because if they hired homeless people or children in third world countries to do it you'd have an even bigger outcry than using rabbits.
Face it, YOU have created a scenario where it is impossible for the cosmetics companies to satisfy you. The market demands innovation, you are the market. Innovation means new products, new products means new formulations, new formulations means more testing (FDA rules). So tell me, how do they satisfy you?
You benefit from and desire the system being this way. You complaining is nothing more than idle blab. If you were serious about this, you would reject every new product out there that will make your hair shinier, your skin smoother, and your eyes brighter (or whatever). Then the market would see that innovation is not rewarded and would stop development. The lack of development would result in no need for testing and you could go on buying your 30 year-old formula for Panteen.
Its cheap, and the majority of people have no issue with it.
Because there aren't enough true vegans who would step in and take their place. It's inconvenient.
By law they are required to test all products in some form. These companies look at short term expenditures and see the switch as a financial setback when in the long run they would save money if they switched to an alternative method of testing. For example most generic brands are not tested on animals. If you compare the ingredients they are essentially the same and the few alterations are from accuracy rates. The alternative tests are more accurate for human use and therefore the formula may need to be changed to assist with these result changes.
I have been wondering the same thing. Mike L, I appreciate your point, but there are already enough substances that are well known and have been around for a long time. We don't need new compounds that badly. I am aware that the ingredients in cosmetics and other things made by cruelty free companies were at one time tested on animals by a different company, that can't be helped. Why can't the companies who make cosmetics and other stuff just use the ingredients that have already been tested and is ready for the public market?
I am changing all the products I have that are made by companies who still test on animals, it takes a while to use up the old stuff, which feels kind of gross on me now. My favorite cologne is Emeraude and has been for almost 30 years, after I use up what I have I won't be using it anymore because Coty is still doing animal testing.
Edit: Stephen H: Anyone can go to caringconsumer.com for info about what companies do and do not test on animals. Beware though, that doesn't mean the products won't contain animal products or by products so always check labels and ask companies the ingredients of their products before you buy!
Edit: Frankly, if a scientist has developed a new substance that hasn't been used by people before and it is so questionable that it has to be tested on animals first I don't want to use it. I think people use too much make up anyway.
because you have to test on something and animals are the easiest thing to test on. plus they look really cute with makeup on.
would you rather them test on people? donate your baby or yourself then!
well, why dont you apply for a job there and let them test on you...then they wont have to test on animals...problem solved!
Shhhh
your showing you do not know the facts.

medicine, new compounds, exotic extracts from the rain forest and tropical jungles.

Where can i buy proactiv cosmetics and is it good for women of color?
or can anyone tell me a good foundation and concealer that has acne medication in it..that wont break me out.Where can i buy proactiv cosmetics and is it good for women of color?
Proactive cosmetics has very limited skin hues for women of color to choose from. I wear Mineral Indulgence which is a mineral makeup designed specifically for women of color...and their products are WONDERFUL for people with acne prone skin (they include vitamin E and essential oils in their powder and liquid silk foundation). I used to have really bad acne, but their tea tree soaps, toners, and mineral makeup cleared my skin up in two weeks!
You really might like it, all of my friends are hooked on the stuff...lol.Where can i buy proactiv cosmetics and is it good for women of color?
You can get it at the mall, and yes it works on all skin types =]
look up proactive on google! and it works on any skin color.!
yes it does work but u must keep buying if not ur skin will go back 2 normal or worst good luck

What are 3 positives of cosmetics being tested on animals?
I have 3 negatives of cosmetics being tested on animals. But now i need 3 positives, are there any? What are 3 positives of cosmetics being tested on animals?
nope their isnt any
but i supose you will know if it would kill your dog if it ate itWhat are 3 positives of cosmetics being tested on animals?
no.
Listen, I was thinking of all the testing on animals. It's actually horrible. But, as you know, millions upon millions of people, woman actually, love to wear makeup, need to wear makeup, want to wear makeup. Earlier, there were lots of poisonous ingredients in it and thanks to animal testing people figured out what not to put in this beauty potions. Very sad, very unfair, but, well, that's how it was.
The thing is, we know now what is deadly and what is not. And there is, in my opinion, no reason why we should carry on testing on this innocent creatures. So it should be stopped. Enough is enough.
And we should put some memorial stone or something for all the animals that saved our lives, makeup or medicine or anything else. We owe them so much.
Maybe this is not an answer to your question, but, well, there it is.
Here's a positive for you. Think of this scenario. If products weren't tested before being sold things like this would happen all the time: A company mass produces and sells a new ';plumping'; lipstick formula. A woman buys it and her daughter observes mommy putting on the lipstick later in the evening. So before bed daughter dearest decides she's going to make her self look like mommy and ends up eating the tube. She gets sicker and sicker and eventually dies. Mommy comes to find her dead baby and after an autopsy is preformed they find out it was the lipstick that poisoned her to death. Too bad they couldn't have tested it on a mouse or something before they started selling it, maybe it would have never happened. I don't condone animal cruelty but some animal testing is necessary. Cosmetics, along with medicines, and other things need to be proven safe before being used. Besides, explain how it hurts a lab rat to have lip stick or foundation rubbed on it? Other than the obvious, that it looks stupid? For you people that disagree, you'd be surprised at all the everyday things you use that HAVE been tested on animals.
There are no positives to animals being kept in cages, tortured and just discarded when they are done with.
There are NO positives and it's sad to think that there might be.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't it better that you test it on a mouse, as there are millions and millions of them in the world, than you sell a product to consumers that will harm them, when you could have just tested it on some mice and be aware of the dangers?
Hope this helps :)
Humans are evil %26amp; selfish creatures b/c we want to wear products and fast results so that's why majority of companies do animal testing to get fast result %26amp; new experiments to have new cosmetics or products in general. Companies know they're destroying %26amp; torturing lives but they don't care. If you already have animal tested products, don't toss them out. Just start not buying animal testing products. If THERE ARE COMPANIES WHO DON'T DO ANIMAL TESTING AND STILL PRODUCE GOOD PRODUCTS THEN YOU KNOW THAT OTHER COMPANIES CAN DO THE SAME BUT THEY CHOOSE NOT TO.

nope their isnt any
but i supose you will know if it would kill your dog if it ate itWhat are 3 positives of cosmetics being tested on animals?

What qualifications do you need for a career with mac cosmetics?
Im going to take some form of beauty course so i can work for mac cosmetics as i do not have any official qualifications or experience, does anybody know what exactly i would need? What qualifications do you need for a career with mac cosmetics?
You do not need any type of training etc to work for MAC. You just have to have your own skill, know some information about the company, etc etc. Basically, just know what you're doing and talking about! It shouldn't be too hard if you have skills.

What are the qualifications to work at Benefit Cosmetics or MAC Cosmetics?
I'm 18 years old and I have a lot of experience doing make up for my proms, cotillions, weddings, and other special occasions and I would love to work at MAC or Benefit because those are the 2 brands I use. I would like to start off at a MAC counter or Benefit counter at Macys or Nordstrom but do I need other specific qualifications or requirements I need to meet in order to apply? Help please? What are the qualifications to work at Benefit Cosmetics or MAC Cosmetics?
I would try for Benefit, since they have a more limited amount of color. I have freelanced for MAC before, and they really do require more experienced artists, although it is true if you work at the counter they will send you to trainings.
I loved working in cosmetics, and I started at Clinique when I was 20. I have worked at Nordstrom, which is a great company to work for! Have fun, and Good Luck! What are the qualifications to work at Benefit Cosmetics or MAC Cosmetics?
Im a mac artist and most of the guys working here have a strong make-up backround. I personaly did training as a fashion make-up artist for two years and then started working for mac along side freelanceing.
Its tough to get into mac since is a very sought after job. You can progress in the company for many levels from events team (doing fashion week etc) to becoming a trainer or even one day a Pro Artist.
I would advise you to study and get some sort of qulification in fashion Make-up and to start building a portfolio to show off you're skills.
This isn't alwasy necesary but It will make you go further then others who have no done this.
Good Luck
i think with your experience you could easily get a job with mac. mac sends u to makeup courses, so they will qualify u. my friend worked for mac, she had NO knowledge whatsoever, and they sent her to makeup courses for everything :)real world myspace

What are the differences between the high price cosmetics and low price cosmetics?
I'm doing my essay work. Could you help me to get some news or articles from the magazines that they can relate to my question?I have to point out three points that I can argue. What are the differences between the high price cosmetics and low price cosmetics?
This is where, ';you get what you pay for'; comes in. Some things you can get away with by paying a low cost. Cosmetics isn't one of them. The more expensive cosmetics you will be able to see the difference in quality, longer lasting and in the fragrance as well. Hopefully, those are the three points that you can use on your essay. They are the thre reasons why I like the more expensive brand names. Mac is my personal favorite. Thanks for letting me share. What are the differences between the high price cosmetics and low price cosmetics?

The biggest difference between high and low price cosmetics is how far the women wearing them stick their nose in the air. Otherwise, it's just how many pounds of horse guts they put into each compact.

I just wrote an article that deals with choosing cosmetics when you have acne. The main thing you want to keep in mind is to look for makeup that states noncomedogenic or comedogenic free. This is makeup that has an oil base and can clog your pores. If you want to read the whole article, just check out the link in my resource box. Hope this helps.

You also want to make sure the company doesn't test on animals. Cover Girl is a subsidiary of Procter %26amp; Gamble, notorious for animal testing. And I think Maybelline belongs to a corporation notorious for animal testing as well.
Zuzu Luxe, Emani, (available online through vegan retailers), Urban Decay, and Hard Candy are all excellent brands. Why are women fooled so easily by marketing of cosmetics and skin care products?
My mother for one just looks at the claims on the labels and buys based on that. She doesn't bother to look at the ingredients, and truly believes that because it's more expensive, it's a better product. Why are women fooled so easily by marketing of cosmetics and skin care products?
They want to believe.
The cosmetic companies tell everyone the active ingredients and this is what we should use instead of spending $$ on chemically concocted beauty products.
Lipozene is in tomatoes
Hydroxy acids are in fruits
Malic acid in apples is great for skin care.
Lactic acid in milk is the perfect anti aging skin care - ever. Why are women fooled so easily by marketing of cosmetics and skin care products?
I don't know if it's innate or we're conditioned, but many women like things in pretty packaging. We're bombarded with advertising almost nonstop. Pick up a magazine like Glamour or Cosmo, and you'll wade through pages of ads before you even see the table of contents, much less an article! And many of the so-called articles are probably paid for by advertisers.
I read ingredients and buy less expensive stuff 1) because I can't afford to spend $65 for a jar of cream and 2) I'm vegan and most of the high-end stuff isn't suitable for me. Of course, the Lush creams are more expensive than Wal-Mart, but the former does have natural ingredients. I try to avoid buying stuff that has ingredients you need a chemistry degree to decipher.
I think the lack of industry regulation plays a big part too. It's scary how easy it is to sell makeup and skin care products based on the shape and color of the bottle or the model in the ad.
For an interesting look at the history of the cosmetics industry and how they get away with what they do, check out this article: http://www.natural-beauty-info.com/cosme鈥?/a>
I agree with you so much!
No products ';specifically designed for blah blah blah...'; actually work... people get fooled so often and end up spending so much money on useless things!
I watched a show where they compared $300 moisturizers from department stores (ie. the Bay, Sears) and simple $10 from Wal-Mart, and most of the time they either worked the same or the less expensive (but less appealing) one worked better!
Funny how that works

What kind of cosmetics would you like as a teen?
My friend and I are starting a makeup company specifically for teens. What kind of makeup would you like? We are currently starting with flavored lip gloss that is 100 percent edible (and tastes like heaven) and a line of lip gloss called the RED collection (different shades of red). Any ideas? What kind of cosmetics would you like as a teen?
i would try super shiny lipglosses and sparkly ones.. maybe clear mascara.. i never see that anywhere any more!! i like eyeshadows too.. maybe in bright funky colours and some neutral colours that are sparkly... i like liquid and pencil eyeliner too (but i like liquid better) and make them in different colours like yellow, orange, pink, blue, purple, gold, silver, etc.,What kind of cosmetics would you like as a teen?
hmm..
well for a start, your lipGlosses sound really nice! :)
but back to the question ..
#foundation thats very light and won't damage skin
#Mascara that has no clumps and makes lashes instantly longer
#bronzer/blusher that actually bronzes your skin without makingg you go orange ..
#urr. maybe eyeliner or something, but there are people who can't wear eyeliner, so that might not be so good.
#primer or something like the Benefit Bad Gal? I think that's what it's called, but i LOVE that stuff and i'm 15 so yeahh.
# makeUp brushes
#and maybe some moisturiser or somethingg..? i'm running out of ideas now .. so yeah.
i think that'd be about it, after all teenagers don't need that much makeup. well i personally wear that primer stuff from Benefit, mascara and lip gloss.
so that'd do for me.
haha..
i hope i helped youu. :)
i probs didn't but oh well. btWayy, i'm really liking your edible LipGloss ideas! :D
Sounds like your already coming up with some awesome ideas!!! I pretty much just use regular things too like eye liner, masscara, and eye shadow. No matter what you pick it can't be wrong, someone's bound to buy it considering different people like to but different things! Teens pretty much will get anything that sounds like it works, looks cute, or heard it was good. You and your friend seem to be on your way!!!
The Lip gloss and your company sounds great hopefully its in england somewhere or a website where i could buy of off , i think most teens like glitz as well as glam-our so maybe glittery eyeliner and preferably a water proof kajal stick which can be in a variety of bright neon Colors because neon is very in :) hope i helped and good luck

If you do happen to sell this stuff Id like to know the name of your store!
lol
Well, I'm not really sure what you are asking so, if you would like me to help (which I do really want to because this is rather interesting) Will you please email me or IM me or something. This sounds interesting! :) Sorry :/ (I may be able to help!) :)
Hey well i relly lke eyliner, but maybe ones like a blue, insted of the usual black. I also like a mascara that could make your eyes look massive. Happy to help.-

i would try super shiny lipglosses and sparkly ones.. maybe clear mascara.. i never see that anywhere any more!! i like eyeshadows too.. maybe in bright funky colours and some neutral colours that are sparkly... i like liquid and pencil eyeliner too (but i like liquid better) and make them in different colours like yellow, orange, pink, blue, purple, gold, silver, etc.,What kind of cosmetics would you like as a teen?
hmm..
well for a start, your lipGlosses sound really nice! :)
but back to the question ..
I know all my friends and I would buy colored mascara
they need to advertise and sell it more

^purple mascara

^blue mascara
it can look quite nice if worn properly :)
Happy to help.-
i have ordered 10 pairs nike shoes from the website.and i received my shoes 7days later
i am so happy to the products i order, because the shoes look nice but crazy price at 39usd.
does anyone help me to check the website if they offer the real shoes real or not.
i think they are knock off, because the price is so cheap,
but any way,and the quality of the shoes is great,i like the shoes very much.
